If there was a negative score option for this property, I would choose it. The room reeked of smoke - even though I requested a non-smoking room -, there was a used wash cloth hanging from the shower rod, the carpet had not been vaccumed in god knows how long, and worse - when I pulled back the covers on the bed to settle in for the night, I noticed a pubic hair resting comfortably on my pillow. Other than that, it was great.

This hotel was very depressing. There were handwritten signs saying wet paint in the hallways, but it didn't look like they had been painted any time within the last 10 years. The non-smoking room REEKED of paint mixed with some other unidentifiable bad smells. I am used to some unpleasant smells in hotel rooms, but this was way past bad. We both had headaches by the time we left. This room was WAY overpriced for the condition of the hotel/room. Hallways were dark, dirty and depressing. Bathroom was not clean or updated.

The Super 8 is not the dirtiest place I've ever stayed but it could use some more housekeeping attention. Only smoking rooms were available and our room did smell like an ashtray. Children ran up and down the halls, yelling and slamming doors. The a/c works great! There was plenty of hot water. Breakfast was acceptable.

We arrived at the Super 8 because of Hurricane Katrina. I made reservations for the Super 8 because they "welcomed" pets. The hotel is older and needs some updating. The cleaning staff were extremely helpful and some of the desk staff were helpful, but some were not. The breakfast was horrible. The donuts were stale and they only put out a few at a time (literally). One evening I noticed when taking a shower that water was dripping on me from above. It was water dripping from the ceiling. When I inquired about it the front desk clerk came to see it and said don't poke it. The owner then said it was because room 214 was taking a shower. I would only stay here again if there were clearly not any other options. At checkout, I was told that since I had two dogs I would have to pay an extra $20 per day. I did because I was not in the mood to deal with it. Even though they welcomed pets, they surely had no problem charging an additional $20 per day without telling this to me upfront. Only recommend if there are not any better options.
