“FANTASTIC FOOD & SERVICE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Our waiter was professional and well seasoned, his menu recommendations were top notch. We had a table by the window overlooking the beautiful lake.

“Best meal by far of our trip (and we've eaten well...)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

We were on a road trip that stalled in Natchitoches after we found the welcome so warm and so much to do. We tried Mariners on the recommendation of other trip advisor reviews and that of our hotel receptionist.

The restaurant is beautifully located on the edge of Sibley Lake, with expansive views across the lake. We were concerned that we might be out of luck. There were a lot of cars parked outside, but on entering the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised to discover it didn't seem busy at all. There are outdoor seating areas, but we opted to avoid the humidity and sat inside. We were shown to a window seat with a gorgeous view, and watched the sunset over the lake as we surveyed the menu.

We both chose the soup of the day starter; crawfish and artichoke. It was exquisite - beautifully creamy with just the right hint of spiciness. If we thought the starter was good, the main was outstanding. My wife chose the catch of the day - Snapper topped with Creolaise sauce. I picked the Blackened Catfish with Crawfish Etouffée. Both were excellent and I just had to follow with the home-made Pecan Pie, which also lived up to its reputation.

Jamie, our server, was convivial, attentive and helpful throughout the evening. She checked on us regularly without ever being intrusive, and the pace of service from the kitchens was just right.

All in all, this was by far the best dining experience that we've enjoyed in the whole of this two week trip. We have one more night in Natchitoches and we've already booked a table at the Mariners for our last evening in town!

“Pleasant dining, Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2013

We ate here on our last night of vacation and were glad we did. Although a bit overpriced, the stuffed shrimp and stuffed crab were both excellent. The twice baked potatoes were very good. The salad bar had a big selection of yummy foods, but could use more raw vegetables. The service at Mariner's was very good, attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed sitting at the huge windows over the water. Very peaceful.

“Just what we needed traveling through Natchitoches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We stopped here for dinner on our way down to New Orleans.  My husband didn't want to get too far off I-49 but I convinced him it wasn't too far.  It is only about 5 miles (5-6 minutes) off I-49 on the east side of the scenic Sibley Lake. The restaurant has a large deck on the water as well as a large indoor seating area with lake views.  We had blackened coho salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and the salad bar.  Everything was delicious and the service was great.  Highly recommend if you're traveling through Natchitoches.

“Good Buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

We have only dined at Mariner's this one time. We were there for their Sunday lunch buffet and it was really good. The selection was good, from the meats to desserts and everything between. There was plenty of selection and the salad bar was good as well. The service was OK, not the best, but certainly not the worst we've had. Mariner's also had an extensive menu you could order from. The restaurant overlooks Sibley Lake so the view is really pretty. It's a neat place with really good food!
