Couldn't get a reservation at my usual hotel here so decided to try this one. Haven't stayed there in probably 15 years and knew it had some exterior door rooms but also that it had been renovated so gave it a shot. While the lobby and check in area are beautiful and quite luxurious, the same cannot be said for the rest of the hotel. It was like a trip back in time to the old hotels where you park in front of your room door. The carpet looked new and the paint job was poor with marred walls and the bathroom especially looked like it was painted by a young child. The sink and countertop was chipped, part of the exterior of the hotel on the way to my room was just plywood with some white paint slapped on part of it. Parking lot had huge potholes and desperately needs repaving. The room was furnished with 2 queen beds with HUGE headboards and footboards and the dresser was in the same style - way too big for the size of the room. Two people couldn't pass each other between the bed footboards and the dresser. The TV remote had gray duct tape holding the battery compartment lid on. No mini-fridge, no microwave4, no DESK (although they do have wireless connection). When I tried to set the alarm clock, the numbers on a.m. jumpted from 4 to 7 so I had to call the front desk for a wake up call.
Will have to be pretty desperate to go back to this one.
