“Besides the fire alarm, all was well”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

This was a last minute booking as we had to stay in NOLA another night (unexpectedly) and needed to be close to the airport. Everything was nice -- spacious rooms with actual balconies (something you don't see very often in a large city). Comfortable beds - really nice bathrooms with room to move around and updated ceramic tile. We had a weird experience in the restaurant. There were no customers there and the server was also the room service attendant. We got there and the manager/cook helped us in. There was a baseball game on TV in the adjoining bar, so I requested to sit in there which the awesome bartender happily obliged. About 5 minutes later, the server came and in abruptly told us we had to leave because my son was a minor (although we were the ONLY customers in there). So we were re-sat in the main restaurant... then the cook/manager comes out and says, "no it's ok, we can move you back to the bar" and proceeds to tell us the Louisiana laws that support his effort to move us back to the bar (as long as the bar is adjacent to a restaurant and a parent is there, it's ok) but at this point we were tired of moving back and forth and really didn't care about LA law. :) It was kind of funny, but we felt bad for the server who had to come out to us and admit she was wrong. We assured her that all was well with the world and no worries at all. This absolutely has no bearing either way in this review.. but just a unique experience. We fell asleep just fine and then at 2:55 a.m. were jarred out of bed by a fire alarm that went off for almost 5 minutes... and the debate about whether to evacuate or not. One of the neighbors said it was an accidental trip of the alarm so we just waited. Naturally, I couldn't get back to sleep after my heart nearly beat of out of my chest because I was alone with my 10-year-old. Finally got back to sleep at 5:00 and then another noisy neighbor thought it would be cool to drag her luggage cart and beat the walls as she walked by -- at 5:30 a.m. None of this really has any bearing on the quality and rating of the hotel in general... just weird/unique circumstances that just left me with a 'blah' either way because I was so tired and had a 10-hour drive ahead of me. The accommodations, besides all this, were fabulous.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night before flying out to the Caribbean. It's a very convenient location with shuttle service to the airport which was key for us. They allow you to leave your car there while away on travel at no extra cost, so that was a win-win. The hallway was kind of gloomy, but the room itself was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

All in all, good place for a short stay. I got a good deal on Priceline, too!

There isn't much around this hotel for shopping or eating, that's in walking distance, but the rooms have always been clean. The staff are GREAT. The room I had, during a VERY short overnight was just above the pool (second floor), but no noise problems from the families enjoying themselves. Only 10 minutes from the airport too!

Room Tip: If you want to make sure you don't get pool sounds, try for a floor above 3.

We, wife and I and 4 friends stayed here for one night before our Carnival Conquest Cruise [Loved the cruise]. There was a Baseball tournament going on in the area so the hotel was busy however our check-in was handled well. The rooms had been refurbished, the lobby was redone and 90% finished. The bar was also 90% redone. The staff even though they were very busy were friendly and efficient. We were able to leave our car there at no charge while we were gone. The price of the rooms were reasonable and we have no complaints. This hotel worked for us for our one night in the area and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: This hotel is in an retail, business area so don't expect a room with a view.

The hotel was in the process of renovations so cuddos for that. They even left us some free snacks for the "trouble". We did not sleep well, but part of that was the excitment for our early flight the next morning. The other was traffic noise but our room was right beside the interstate so that wasn't the hotel's fault. The shuttle service to the airport was prompt.

Room Tip: ask for a room as far away from traffic noise as possible

& the location isn't bad - just off I-10. Not too far from New Orleans, but far enough that the parking is free! Staff has been great. On Wednesday night they have free appetizers & one free beer for 1 1/2 hours.....
