“Looking for something more...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013

Ruth's Chris has been around for a long time, but I think they are resting on their laurels. While the food is somewhat consistent, it seems they need to make some changes to regain the "wow" factor.

When demanding the elevated prices that they do, certain expectations need to be met. When my wine glass is near empty, I want it refilled. When it is completely empty, I don't want to hunt for the waiter and then ask him to bring me another bottle or glass. Basic questions regarding the preparation of menu items should not take a trip to the kitchen to gather information they should already know.

Steaks are obviously the staple here. I just want more out of a $40+ steak other than it being somewhat tender and served on a hot plate. How about some better seasoning or more creative toppings or sauces? The same old sides need updated as well. And when I order the asparagus with Hollandaise, is it asking too much for the sauce not to be served room temperature? Cold sauce on veggies two minutes after arriving to the table is not very appealing!

Surely their are better steak houses in the area which I will make a point to frequent next time as opposed of the same old same old...

“Expensive, but superb steaks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

We went to this restaurant based on the reviews on this site. They need little adding to them. As a steakhouse they excel, as they should do for the price. The aged steaks are full of flavour and extremely tender. The cowboys T bone steak was about 20oz in size and I had it with sweet potato topped in a pecan nut crumble. If you like sweet savouries, you will love it. The wine was lovely, and the service attentive. We were asked at least 6 times if everything was ok.
The only reasons for not giving it 5 stars were the Luke warm gumbo, which was sent back and came out 5 minutes later piping hot (microwave?); and the New Orleans obsession with over the top air conditioning blasting away meaning jumpers were needed to stay warm.
Overall we enjoyed the meal. The cost was justified - just, but the cold starter spoilt it just a little.

“Food and Service Outstanding !!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

This was a business meal with friends and you could not wish for the best quality food and service. if medals were given this would be Gold all the way.

The appertizer I had was Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat, and the Signature steak done to perfection. If the one time i was in love with a meal then that was it.

“Great steaks!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

Ate here for my bday dinner June 3rd. Food was amazing as always. I had the filet Oscar style which is when they top the steak with with a crab cake bernaise sauce and asparagus. It is great! All in all it is pretty expensive. But great steaks sizzling on the plate in butter. Crabtini for a starter is a must have. For the side try sweet potato casserole. And for desert get the blueberry cheesecake. Great place for a special occasion or a really good meal. We have ate here many times since we have two Ruth's Chris restaurants in New Orleans and never have had a bad meal. Check it out!
