The best dining venue we tried, however, was New Orleans Food and Spirits. It was recommended by some locals when we got back from Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve’s Barataria Unit. It was located in a little city outside New Orleans. The best thing about this place is that you can get quality Cajun food there without the price tags attached to some of their New Orleans cousins. Their Pecan Catfish was so crispy on the outside (and moist on the inside) that the crust fell off the fork when we tried to pick it up. Equally delicious were their Voo Doo Rolls, and Red Beans with Rice (for $1 more, you get to have a pork chop that's perfectly done.). There's so much good food can do to boost your mood--when we left the place, we felt fat and happy!
