We stayed here while visiting friends who live in La place. There are not many options for where to stay, so we opted for this hotel. A few things that would have been helpful to know...There are no enclosed hallways - it is a true motel in every sense. There are also no elevators, so be sure to request a room on the first floor if traveling with those who cannot climb stairs. The rooms are clean, but dated.
Pros: The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The front desk manager - Kathy - helped us out in a few situations. It is also very close to I-10 - direct into New Orleans or out to the plantations. Cons: Housekeeping starts coming by at 6 AM and are not on property after 12 PM. If you are not out of your room by around 11 AM, they will not come by and you will need to wait until the next day for clean towels or getting trash emptied. They also knocked on our door even when we had the "do not disturb" sign outside the door. Another thing that was a bit annoying was the fact that this hotel rents out rooms on a long-term basis for the people who come in to town to refurbish the refineries that are in the area. The shift changes are at all hours and since the rooms face the outside LOTS of noise carries into the room via the wall heating/AC unit. This is rather unpleasant in the middle of the night.
There is a Hampton Inn across the street which is quite a bit higher, but I think I would rather stay there next time.
