“Fantastic experience......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011

I suppose we were lucky, but sitting in the middle of the bayou with a 5ft alligator on your lap takes some beating.....I suspect that even had we not seen a gator (and they don't always show up on cue) we would still have been delighted with our spin through the waterways. The chaps driving the boats know where things are, and what they're doing. If you like birdlife, you're in for atreat, but even if you don't, the trip is an exhilarating ride...

“A fun day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

Although it was a slow day for sighting wildlife, it was still a great experience. We were part of a two boat tour with Kim and his son on a very hot Saturday in August. We felt like we were part of their family for the tour. They told jokes, shared history and even let us go along while they checked their fishing lines. Our party consisted of me, my husband and two 10 year old boys. We will definitely go on the tour again when we return to The area.

“Great Tour & Great Guides!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011

We went on this tour in April (also stayed at Bois des Chenes B&B) and had a fantastic time.

Coerte and Kim are fantastic guides - they're great fun and can't do enough to help. Plus they clearly know the swamp like the backs of their hands, and if the wildlife is out to play then it's sure they'll find it for you! We saw American Eagles, snakes (at very close quarters!), all kinds of other birds and even Big George the giant one-eyed croc!

The swamp area is incredibly beautiful - a world apart from what you see driving over it on the interstate. I would definitely recommend to everyone - it's a great day out!

“If you do nothing else in Louisiana, do this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2011

This is without a doubt one of the best tour experiences you will ever have in LA or anywhere else. The father and son team of Coerte and Kim are wonderful people and incredibly knowledgeable of the bayou. This isn't one of those "your tour will last exactly 59 minutes" trips; we meandered through the swamp for three hours and our guides spent lots of extra time making sure I had my camera angles just right. We were fortunate to have had a wonderful spring day for our trip, but at every time of year the bayou will have different attractions and charms. I can't say enough about much fun we had.

“Atchafalaya tour was great fun for all ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2011

Our family booked this tour, including our 82 year old aunt. Coerte and Kim Voorhies were wonderful tour guides, and worked very hard to make sure we saw as much wildlife as possible given the time of year. After some work, we were able to see alligators as well as some amazing birds.
I would highly recommend the tour, and in fact, will return to do it again in the spring or summer, when more wildlife will be present.
