“Venue & Catering site for bridal shower”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

The hotel event staff was extremely attentive and top notch. Mrs. Jennifer Patin listened to my requests and did everything to accommodate my vision for a bridal shower hosting over 125 women. The food was delicious, the set up was seamless and the wait staff gets two thumbs up. My bridesmaids were so thankful to work with a venue that actually delivered what they promised. None of my guest will ever forget my bridal shower. Thank you so much, Hotel Acadiana, Jennifer and Rebecca !!

Dear Soccermom3211,
After reviewing the activity reports for the situation that occurred during your stay, it was an unfortunate incident that these disruptive guests were not repspectful to our other clients and to the staff of the hotel. The security and manager on duty did take action, but I'm sorry that you feel it didn't happen fast enough. They were physically escorted out of the hotel and were advised to never return. The manager on duty had several conversations with the gentleman in your party and was under the impression that the hotel did everything in a expeditited manner and the resolution was met with your satisfaction. Please accept my apologies for the issues that caused turmoil during your stay and be assured that your comments did not fall on deaf ears.

The first room we were given had two things wrong with it: a moldy ceiling with water damage and a dead spider on my bed. We changed rooms and the first night was fine, the second night (Saturday) was awful. At least 6 or 7 people next to our room were partying and making very (sexual) sounds and what not. The loud screaming was just too much and we decided to complain to the manager since we had kids and it was 1 AM. The manager kicked everyone out that room except the two who payed for it. We moved rooms again that night to avoid them. Others complained too, and it took almost 30 minutes for the hotel to actually do something about it. To sum it up, the hotel has a nice location, but unless you want to deal with loud moaning on the weekend at 1 o clock in the morning don't go. Especially if you have children. Also, the bar connected to the hotel called Scandals doesn't really help out the reputation when it attracts drunks to party all night in a room.

This hotel has comfortable meeting spaces, nicely updated rooms, and ours was a really good bed! The staff was very helpful, from the manager to the ladies who cleaned our room. They all went out of their way to see if we had just everything we wanted.

Dear Manhappiness,
We strive to go that extra mile and when there's a conference or event, it allows our other F&B and Sales department to shine. Thanks for your feedback. It's been shared with the entire staff that put on your conference.

I loved my room. My husband and I stayed at your hotel and was so happy we did. The room was big and inviting. The room was clean and large. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The beds were so comfortable and so many pillows, great. We had a handicap room and the restroom was so big. The Acadiana sits in the heart of Lafayette, which put us near everything. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay at a quality hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor it was so quiet.

After reading some bad reviews I was weary about my stay but the price was right so we stayed. The room is a nice size, I like the wet bar area, and the beds....well that made every negative comment disappear, the bed was so comfortable. In the updates they need to include more electrical outlets, we are living in an electronics age with chargers needed for laptops, iPads, cellphones, handheld games, etc.

The negative is: (room 525) the ceiling had water damage, the carpet had big red stain, the window had a "permanent fog" so I didn't have a view, the pool was very small for a 3 star, room had 2 beds (for 4 ppl) but only had 2 sets of towels in the room, no microwave, no snack vending only soda drinks, needs updating & more electrical outlets

The positive: very close to The Heymann Center (the reason for my stay), great restaurants in the area (Outback, Chilli's, Ruth Chris, etc) clean, comfortable, felt very safe, lots of exits & elevators so never far walk, mini fridge, front desk & housekeeping were awesome

Louisiana Gurl,
I want to apologize for your room concerns. Our engineering department went hard at work in addressing your feedback. We want every guest to feel at home during their stay and the room issues have been resolved. I welcome you back if your ever in Lafayette again. Both the front desk and housekeeping were made aware of your appreciation. Thank you so much for your comments.

We stayed for 5 days as part of a group tour. Even though our room was right next to the ice machine and elevator, we never heard a thing. Very quiet & comfortable. The room was clean, not pristine (needs some updating), but adequate. The staff was very helpful and very, very nice, but there were a lot of things that needed more detail. For instance, our room did not have an ironing board or blow dryer, and we had to ask twice to get our request filled. Also, not a lot of detail in daily housekeeping. Really felt sorry for the breakfast room staff on our final day. They had loads of people, and just could not keep up with demands, i.e. lack of coffee, silverware, empty buffet trays, etc. All in all, though, the staff were so kind, it really made up for the lack of detail. A nice addition was complimentary laundry room, but lighting there was poor.
