“Our Favorite B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2012

Since 2000, we have stayed here over a dozen times! We love Pat and Maugie, and all they offer in their lovely home.

Many comment that it is located on a busy street. It used to be a quiet road, but with the growth in Lafayette, and many changes, the location has become busy. Pat and Maugie saw this coming, years ago, and the large bushes out front were only small seedlings, when we first stayed there. They knew the addition of the intersection was coming, and they could do nothing but make the best of it!

The breakfasts are wonderful! You can even purchase a small cookbook, containing most of the items served.

We have stayed in almost every room, and find each one special, in their own way. I am pleased that other family members have become a part of what Pat and Maugie created, so this wonderful B&B can continue, hopefully, for many generations!

We love you guys!

What fun! This is a beautiful bed and breakfast with lots of local color and wonderful hosts. We will definitely do this again when we are visiting New Orleans and the area. The evening appetizer and drinks were very nice and the breakfast was great!

Room Tip: We had the Louisiana Room which looked out on the garden. Very nice quiet room.

My husband and I recently spent a weekend at this delightful B & B. We stayed in the Bouree room as it had a king bed and was a little further back from the street. It was lovely. We toured around Lafayette and area, taking in the swamp tour (saw plenty of alligators) and the Tabasco Factory on Avery Island. Maugie was such a hoot and so helpful. We really enjoyed our welcome appees and Mint juleps...they made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were delish, with excellent coffee! We would highly recommend our gracious hosts and their beautiful home, as it was a truly memorable visit.

My husband and I spent last night at T'Frere's in the upstairs "Garden Room." This was our second stay at this property but last time we stayed in the detached "garconniere" which is located at the back of the property. The main house is located close to the main road (Verot School Road) so this trip we brought our "white noise" machine to drown out any traffic noise and that worked just fine. To access the bathroom from the Garden Room you do need to exit the bedroom but it is right next door and with only one other bedroom upstairs we never encountered our neighbors in the hallway. Maugie and Pat are friendly and kind hosts and we are grateful for their wonderful hospitality!

Room Tip: Rooms in the detached "garconniere" may be a bit quieter as they are located at the back o...

This is a lovely bed and breakfast with everything you expect from that phrase. We stayed in the garconniere and the room was very comfortable and well decorated (more homey/country than fussy Victorian). The bed was huge and comfortable with good pillows. The bathroom was large and had plenty of hot water. But by far it is the food and hospitality that makes this place. Being received with t'juleps and canapes on the porch as a very pleasant surprise, as were the complimentary drinks (after dinner drinks in the house, sodas and water in the fridge in our room). The breakfast was fantastic and Maugie does indeed serve it in her red pajamas accompanied by ringing bells. Several people noted that the house is on a busy street but I do not consider this a detraction at all. The house is easy to find and close to good food and music (and boudin) yet very quiet in the evening. We also enjoyed a tour with the hosts' son through Pastor Brothers Cajun Excursions.

This bed and breakfast was also an educational experience as the home is an original cajun farmhouse. The owners are proud cajuns who love their culture and love sharing it. The breakfast is lovely and we were even serenaded by the owners' son playing the cajun accordian.

The rooms are very cute and old fashioned in the style of the time and the price is very good. A downside is the strange location - right on a main road. But you don't notice traffic noise when you're inside.
