I booked a package for myself and my brother and this was the hotel included in the package.

We liked it. The room was nice and clean, the beds were Sleep Number beds, and the housekeeping staff was nice and extra friendly. Our floor (2nd floor) was very quiet and clean. The location was also good, as it's only about 10-15 minutes away from downtown New Orleans by car and it's right next to the airport. It's also close to food if you get late-night munchies (McDonald's right across the street and other places nearby). We never got up early enough for continental breakfast, nor did we eat at the hotel's restaurant so I can't comment on those aspects.

I went swimming in the hotel pool and it was okay except it needs to be cleaned more often and better. I found a small dead frog in there while swimming, as well as other debris. There also weren't any pool attendants there, so if you have children who want to go swimming it'd be best for you to go with them to ensure their safety (unless you know for sure that they know how to swim). Also, despite our room being very clean, I saw 2 small roaches in the bathroom during my stay there; I left comments about that on my comment card upon leaving the hotel. They also don't change sheets on the weekends unless you're a new guest coming in on the weekend.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience there despite the annoyances I mentioned earlier. I'd stay there again and hope that they improve upon what I mentioned.

  • Liked — Location; cleanlines of rooms; housekeeping staff
  • Disliked — 2 smal roaches in the bathroom; pool needs to be cleaner

free shuttle to the airport! We loved the Radisson New Orleans. Great staff and service and an absolutely wonderful room - the beds are soooo comfortable. We couldn't have asked for a better value.

Not the best option. The hotel had a smoky atmosphere like if everybody smokes inside the building. The room was okay but not as expected. Overall, this hotel doesn’t offer anything special except that is conveniently located just few minutes from the airport. It was a disappointing particularly given the price we paid for it.

We were on the very last leg of our Volunteer New Orleans Service Project Efforts, and some of us decided to stay at the airport, instead of the city, that night, as we had very early flights back to Boston. We checked in and went up to our rooms, agreeing to meet in the bar in a half an hour. We had already peeked in, and there were people sitting in there, but no bartender, and for that matter of fact, no bar! But, not to worry, because while the paying and clearly-getting- impatient -patrons were seated, waiting for their bartender to arrive for the evening (by now, she was two hours late) our weary travelers were treated to a loud blaring television in the corner, showing episode after episode of "Cops"! I went upstairs to take a shower, and the water ran hot and cold, when it even decided to run at all, and the drain was so clogged, that the water from the shower filled up the tub, and there was no way for me to get rid of the standing, by now, grimy water. (We'd been tearing down walls all day long in the lower ninth ward.) The hair dryer didn't work, and there was no where else in the room to plug it in to even try it!

An hour later, I called my associates a few rooms down, and we headed downstairs to the bar, and what did we find? You guessed it! No bartender, again... more patrons than before, and no excuses, either, just a shrug from the desk person. She finally arrived, dressed like she was going to a very fancy party, and was mad as hell that she had been called in, and let everyone in the lounge know it, too! She was livid, and slammed and bashed her way around, trying to set up the bar, which clearly had NO liquor in it. We placed our order. She had nothing we wanted, so we ordered something else, and she went away. We, of course, were hoping she was making our drinks, so we continued talking. Then we started wondering where she was. Nearly 20 minutes later, she came back to us, saying that she had forgotten to bring up the ice, and said she'd be right back. Not a chance! We decided to split, and go somewhere else, and headed for the elevators. Who do we meet out in the hallway hob-nobbing with another employee? You guessed it.

I stopped by the desk to ask where the hotel shop was, as I needed an asprin, pretty bad, by now. He offered up that they had no shop, but that there was a vending machine down the hall.

Seriously, I could go on and on, but what's the point? I'll just end here with the fact that when I woke up, and went to make a cup of coffee, the glass carafe was chipped at the top, and cracked all the way down the side. Oh, and did I mention that the light was gone in the shower, so I quickly washed up in total darkness.

I give this hotel one very dark star.

p.s. If you're looking for service in this hotel, I warn you... it has NONE.

Property has been renovated since Katrina. Rooms were nice and updated. Beds were sleep number. I didn't eat at restaurant, but it was busy with customers. Several eating places within walking distance of hotel. Free shuttle to/from airport 5am - midnight. Nice little bar area adjacent to check-in. Overall, it was a great stay especially at the priceline rate I was able to get. Would stay there again.
