We booked this hotel online thinking it would be a safe, decent hotel because we thought it was at the airport (based on the hotel name) and because it is a Day's Inn. It was NOT at the airport, it was a few miles away in a scary neighborhood. There were people that appeared to be transients all over. The hotel was a dump and you could see where the locks had been forced on many of the room doors. Needless to say, we slept very poorly and were afraid of our room and our car being broken into during our entire stay. We would have cancelled our reservations and gone somewhere else but we were there for the Sugar Bowl and there were no other rooms to be found in the whole city. Don't be tempted to stay here based on the cheap rates. It's NOT worth it. They should pay you to stay here!

“This place is a dump”

The place is pretty nasty. It seriously needs to be renovated. I would suggest looking elsewhere. The Shoney's Inn in Metairie is the place that I stayed after the last trip there. It was much nicer. Clean and a much better value for the same money.

“Okay”

Days Inn New Orleans Airport

This hotel is okay for the money. My experience with the staff was excellent. Room was clean. The two things I disliked about it is that some of the hotel is rented as an apartment complex, and the women was looked at by the men that lived there. And not a good pool for the kids, it is in the middle of the parking lot, they could get hit going to the pool.

“very nasty”

Days Inn New Orleans Airport

Our room was dirty and smelled like mildew. I wanted to check out soon after we saw it. I could harldy sleep well because I was worried about how dirty it was. The bathtub looked like it hadn't been cleaned and the carpet felt gross. I recommend looking for another place to stay. It was a miserable waste of money.

“Be afraid. Be very afraid!”

Days Inn New Orleans Airport

Mar 31, 2005

Where to begin?
The indoor/outdoor carpet in front of the office had a large hole waiting to be the exhibit A in a lawsuit.
On entering the room:
No water glasses, no toilet tissue,a hair drier that had a damaged plug with wiring exposed, next to the sink, A/C not working, clock radio broken.
On leaving the room, a roach on the nightstand.

The night clerk made up for a horrible experience by taking care of the day clerk's billing error.

The rooms appear to be rented on a weekly basis to transient construction workers. They pay $122 a week....we paid $63 for a room we could have bought for 20 bucks.
