We entered the lobby and it smelled like a bar room. The lady at the check-in counter didn't know much about anything I asked her, including a notice to guests about debit cards sitting on the check-in counter. I asked for an upgrade, and she said that they had one available and would upgrade my room. When I got to the room, it was the exact room I reserved. You had to enter the room from outside, which i a sign that the hotel is horribly outdated. I entered my nonsmoking room to find that it reeked of cigarette smoke, which wasn't that bad because it covered up the musty smell. The bathroom was pretty gross, and I was scared to sit on the bed. Furniture was outdated as well as the television, I can't believe Holiday Inn allows this hotel to operate under its name. Nasty, nasty, nasty! We moved to the Hampton Inn across the street which is brand new and worth the extra $12 a night.

We were just passing through on the way to Florida, but the overnight in the Holiday Inn was just what we needed.

It was clean, quiet, and relaxing. The value was OK, not too much considering that prices elsewhere were so high.

We didn't get out much to see the amenities, but it provided just what we needed... a good night sleep.

This hotel has a nice location in Jennings, LA. There is an authentic cajun restaurant attached to it. It has a bar, pool and within walking distance to tons of restaurants, gas stations and a 24-hour Wal-mart. We were in Jennings for a competition shoot at the Cajun Elite shooting club. We originally started our stay at the Days Inn but decided to move because that motel is very isolated and we discovered it was dumpy with poor customer service. We were thrilled to be in the Holiday Inn. The restaurant attached is inexpensive and the food was great. Drinks are cheap. The rooms were average but very clean and provdided all the essentials. When we return to Jennings, we'll definitely stay here again. DONT STAY AT THE DAYS INN!

My family and I just stayed here Oct 12-14th for a funeral taking place in Jennings. We had booked 9 rooms for the 15 of us and they were able to accomodate us all. Jennings is a small town but this is the nicest hotel there. We have used this Holiday Inn at least once a year for the last 15 years since our family is from that area. The hotel is updated and the rooms are clean, spacious and very nice. We had a King Room which included a King Bed, a desk and chair area and a chair with ottoman in a nook for reading. The vanity was spacious as well with plenty of room for all my cosmetics, etc. The bed was actually pretty comfortable (which most hotel beds are horrible) and had about 6 pillows.

The hotel restaurant is good for breakfast and a quick cup of coffee. The "cajun" food was terrible, you could tell it was frozen and reheated. The shrimp gumbo had 2 shrimp in it and it was from a can. The lounge area is okay to sit back, have a drink and watch a game.

I would recommend eating at the Boudin King which is amazing! My family is Cajun and from Louisiana and this was the best boudin I have ever had. The gumbo was fantastic as well as the red beans & rice and shrimp po-boys. We actually took 20lbs home with us in a cooler. Ask around town how to find this place, it is worth it!!

We got the AARP/AAA rate of 74.75 per night which is the cheapest they had. The staff was friendly and provided toothpaste and a lint brush which we had left at home.

I would recommend this for any travler fortunate enough to be passing thru our hometown. Check out the Boudin King and the Alligator Farm down the road as well! :-)

We stayed in this hotel despite the negative reviews placed on this site. Fortunately we found the hotel to far exceed what the reviews had stated. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating throughtout our stay. The rooms were clean, the maid service was friendly and the property was well maintained. There is a resturant connected to this Holiday Inn and they too were extremely accommodating and friendly. Considering we were there with 6 other high school age baseball teams I think our stay was exceptional.

  • Liked — The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly.
  • Disliked — The outside entrances.

When visiting family in Jennings, my husband and I stayed four nights at the Holiday Inn in Jennings. A bit nervous after reading three reviews of the hotel, we agreed that we would check it out and move on if the hotel didn't live up to our standards. It turned out to be fine! The check-in was smooth. The room was spacious, clean, nicely decorated and well-furnished. The housekeeping staff was very gracious and thorough. We were very happy to return to this quiet haven after spending each day with our active grandchildren!
