This bed and breakfast, one hour outside New Orleans, felt like a home away from home. Sally and Leland, the proprietors, fed us each morning with a huge, delicious breakfast and filled us up with local and personal history. We got a real taste of Cajun food and lore. They were warm, funny and took such a personal interest in our trip. The room had THE most comfortable king size bed with down and the softest sheets. We had a fridge and stove, the room was cleaned daily and we swam in their salt water pool to our hearts content. If you are looking for a comfy, authentic Louisiana experience go to Crochet House!

My husband and I visited Houma in February for his birthday, and we stayed st the Crochet House for three nights. We have stayed at B&B's several times before and find that we prefer them to comparably priced hotels and motels. The Crochet House was a very nice place to stay. It is in a very quiet residential neighborhood, the room was spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfasts were huge! We didn't even think about eating again until mid-afternoon. In particular, we both enjoyed the sweet potato pancakes (a regional specialty). Our hostess, Sally, was very helpful in suggesting places to visit, eat, etc. The quality is really impressive for the price. I would recommend the Crochet House to anyone planning to visit Houma.
