“As good as any Outback Resturants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

They are as good as any Outback. The service is great, but they can be a tad on the slow side (seating & food prep not the wait staff).

“Just okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

The onion mum was very good. The baked potato was very good.
The steak was just ok.
If I do go back, I'll try something other than the steak.

“Tazz crawfish yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

About the best place to eat in houma. Last time I went there I had the Tazz crawfish and a ribeye with the Parmesan crust. It was all excellent. We ate at the bar and the bartender was very polite and conversational. The only problem is you better get there early if it's a weekend night because you will wait for a table for some time. Why we choose to eat in bar most of times - when a table opens you can grab it.

“Typical Chain Food/Atmosphere”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2012

The Houma, LA Outback is one of the more popular places in town to gather with family and friends to celebrate graduations, birthdays, dances, or any other type of special occasion. After all, if you want a nice steak dinner it is your only option besides Copelands across the street. As any chain restaurant, the atmosphere is typical outback along with the menu. The hostess' are hit and miss. Sometimes they open the door, yet sometimes you're stuck pushing it open yourself. The waitstaff is the same. Sometimes you get one that is excellent at multi-tasking while others obviously don't care/like their job much. Very often you will see some "kids" cutting up when its slow.
The wait time is generally going to be higher than normal because it is one of Houma's better places to celebrate - big parties, make reservations. Prepare to wait an hour to eat here because they do accommodate so many larger parties and it isn't a large full sized restaurant you will find in a big city.
The food is always fresh and never frozen - as the Outback slogan always says. The steaks are not microwaved no matter what anyone believes. They have multiple options on how to cook your steak - flat grill or open flame. Salads are made fresh along with the dressings (despite it's salad-mix out of the bag look, it is not from a bag).
Overall, even if the service isn't always top notch, at least the food is always fantastic. Worth the wait, but there are a lot of choices in Houma if you want to enjoy more of a local flavor and not your typical chain food found across America.

“Very Inconsistant. Tough steak, Bad customer Service. Never again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2012

Came for graduation, for a party of 11. 2 of the group left because of the wait (5 o clock at waiting 50 minutes), the wait didn't bother me. What did bother me, is the the only thing they could give us is 2 separate booths.

The blooming onion had an odd flavor to it from last time I had it. The food came in fast. My steak was tough, but cooked correctly. All agreed that their steak was tough. On my steak, I noticed one side had grill marks, while the other side had no marks. I had a sheepish feeling my steak was microwaved. The lobster was good, but honestly, how can you screw up steaming a lobster.

The waitress was okay, nice. The best part of my meal was my beer. Thank goodness they didn't make that, or it would have been horrible too.

If you love waiting at more than an hour at a time, and get a hit or miss dinner, by all means, visit here, otherwise, eat elsewhere.
