“Overall good, will stay there again”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2011

This was our second stay at this hotel in 4 months. We originally picked it because it's pet-friendly and we wanted to bring our 8-pound dog with us on vacation. While the hotel is not flawless, it's certainly a good value and experience. Please be advised that if you do bring a pet and leave it out in the room while you're gone, housekeeping will not service your room. You can shut the pet up in a separate room (if you're staying in a room with more than one room) and they will service the other areas. The front desk staff here is always friendly and helpful. Also, both times we've stayed here we've asked to extend our stay by one night, and it's never been a problem. There was also no problem when we wanted to change rooms because of a strange chemical smell; they quickly and politely reassigned us and apologized for the inconvenience. The location is also good; it's convenient to all major roads you need to quickly access different parts of the city. We will definitely stay here again.

Clean and tucked away on Citrus. Worth staying there. Nice rooms and liked the kitchen. Pleasant staff. Will stay there again.

Both people I encountered at desk for check in/out were helpful and efficient. When I checked out the woman associate asked me to tell her what they could have improved upon. The fact that she asked me this tells me there is an emphasis on creating a good customer service experience at this property. The exterior is well lit and maintained. It was quiet and there was plentiful parking.

That being said, while efforts are clearly made to maintain the property and updates are visible, it is a little worse for the wear in some minor ways inside. The bathtub had some small cracks and chips. The alarm clock on the nightstand looked like it needed a good cleaning. The bathroom's overhead light flickered at times. The small electric range/oven looked very old, but that's not a big deal in my book.

The gym had a nice large TV, but the room was almost claustrophobic to me. It fit two treadmills, an elliptical and a bike without much room to walk around. No weights or floor space. The treadmill I used also looked like it had heavy sweat drips that had dried all over the display. While water and clean towels were provided I couldn't find any kind of cleaning materials for wiping down equipment.

It's a no frills, convenient property with good service and some room to improve upon interior aspects.

Staff was extremely helpful. Great location - not too far from french quarter. We needed to bring our dog and their 75 fee was low compared to hotels in the french quarter so it was worth the drive to downtown.

Spent 4 weeks here for work. Stayed due to location near where I was working. The signs say it's newly renovated, yet the cabinets, and stove were from 1985. The renovations consisted of new carpet and paint throughout. The efficiency suites were not the largest but expected by the name. If traveling w/ others get the 2 BR or separate rooms. My family came to visit for a few days and made it VERY crowded. Hotel is nice, but not for the price. I've been in nicer hampton inns for cheaper.

Despite positive reviews this hotel was not indicative of typical Marriott properties. Room had odor. One pillowcase had clear makeup stains from previous guests. Room seemed worn and unclean. Planned to stay for 3nights left after one. Hampton inn up the street much better. Staff did seem nice and breakfast attendant extremely friendly.

PIcked this place due to location and my Marriott points; was passing through New Orleans with family and dog in tow, so wanted a good, clean place to stay the night, and away from the downtown area. Despite being extremely busy the night we arrived, with numerous youth basketball players hanging around, and several parties occuring on the premises, the place quieted down around 11:00, just as the sing said around the pool. Room was very clean with nice amenities. Good breakfast. If I need to come to the area for business or an extended stay, I would defuinitely consider this place.
