My husband and I stayed here for two nights early in May and thoroughly enjoyed it! We had been through the hustle and bustle of London, spent time with family, and now we were on our own. It was so peaceful. The views of the countryside, the sound of sheep and lambs, of cows and poultry, greet you and instantly shift you into a quieter, slower pace. Lisa and Marcus were so welcoming, and their children were a delight! Our room was large (bordering on massive!) and comfortable and had it's own separate entrance at the front of the house. Breakfast was served around the large table in the kitchen of the home, and Lisa is an excellent cook! All locally sourced eggs, bacon and sausages...mmmmmm! We had to laugh one morning when we were eating as there was a sheep peering in at us through the family room window!
Pickersgill is a working farm, nestled in farm country, so a car would be necessary. But, having said that, it was very close to the more "tourist" draws of the Bronte Parsonage, Bolton Abbey, etc. and the nearby town has everything one needs. The drive itself in this part of Yorkshire is a site to behold. Beautiful, beautiful country.
We would definitely recommend this B & B to anyone wishing to relax and unwind. It is worth it, and we would love to come back for a return visit. Thanks again for everything Lisa!
