“Nice secluded resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2009

The landscaping is great, the resort secluded, and the pool was always empty when I went (even though the resort was fully booked). A/C in the upstairs room worked fine for me (my Filipina gf found it way too cold). Erwin was nice and all of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The two story house wasn't as big as the pictures seem to make it but it was fine for three people. There's a shuttle near the resort that runs to the beach every hour (except noon) but we always just walked the distance (10-15 min cuz my gf has short legs!) And as long as we didn't leave food out, we didn't see any tiny ants!

When we entered the premises of the Flower garden resort we felt great. It is a nice secluded area with a small swimming pool and a tropical flower garden. When we entered the little bungalow, instantaneously a feeling of disappointment came over me.
The interior of the little house is best described as tasteless and cold. There was a dead cockroach in the middle of the room and at the side somewhere a dead dried out worm. When I walked through the room bare footed, it left a black layer of dirt on the soles of my feet. There was a fridge there that made so much noise that it kept me awake the only night we spent there. And it din't contain what was on the pricelist stuck to it.
The bathroom smelled like pee. The toilet didn't flush in a normal way. The tap in the bathroom was supposed to be shiny silver, it was now black and brown and green and white by dirt and oxide and pure neglect. There was no hot water there. And from the shower came such a tiny little bit of hot water that you didn't even feel it when it ran over the skin.
The kitchen. had just one very old frying pan, no other pans or casseroles, no knives whatsoever and just two forks and one spoon. And there was only one big plate, one deep plate and two small plates and a set of 6 assorted glasses, none of which was the same.
The bed had a very distinct smell of fungus in the sheets and mattresses and after a very unpleasant shower experience the next morning with too little water we noticed that smell was in the towels too. After complaining we where told: What do you expect? a five star hotel? No compensation was offered and I felt offended by the owner.

We booked the flower garden resort for 2 nights. Upon our arrival, we were very disappointed. The A/C was really hot, considering it's the weather in Bohol is hot. My kids cannot slept well. & plenty of mosquitos & other insects was flying & crawling around.
You need to have a long walk to go to alona beach. Not friendly with kids.
we really regret our stayed there. Just go to the beachfront..

This resort is in Alona Beach on Panglao Island. Nice place to stay, I rented a half-house here for 1300-1400pesos a night. The room had 2 beds, a kitchen, airconditioning and its own bathroom. I don't recall if it had hto water or not. The landscaping is simply magnifiscent. The pool is very nice and was not busy at all. The whole place had a very laid back atmosphere. The beach nearby is beautiful, only a 5 -10 minute nice walk away. You will find hermit crabs, starfish and urchins a plenty. The beach is white, the water is so clear and the waves are minimal. If you ever want to relax, this is the place to do it.

After several months of starting a new business in Manila going 24/7 I was dreaming of seeing Florence and Werner at Flower Beach. Arrived after midnight and were greeted with smiles. The morning is SO beautiful there, great breakfast and chat with our hosts. Several hours of snorkeling, sunbathing, and enjoying the sights and sounds of Flower Beach. The stress of city life passes away and you feel refreshed. I can't tell you how nice it is to sit with the staff and hosts at the resort. Their smiles are contagious! After a well-deserved nap my Boholana and I had dinner on the beach; great wine and food under the stars! It takes some time to get there from Tagbulurin but I guarantee you will not want to leave and you will count the days until you can return! Hope to see you soon Florence, Warner and staff; thanks for a great stay.

Hello All Members,
Today, my Filipina Wife, and Myself, returned to Cebu, after having spent the past week, in Lovely Bohol, and for the benefit of any of you members whom may be planning a visit there, in the future , MAY I suggest to you of a VERY NICE resort, to stay. It is namely the ''FLOWER GARDEN RESORT'' , which is situated just behind the Expensive Alona Beach Resort. It is a real nice place to relax, amongst beautiful landscaped gardens ( hence it's name ), and only about 4 / 5 minutes to the gorgeous beach. The tariff is really cheap, in comparison to some of it's rivals' and I have NO hesitation in fully recommending it to one, and all. I am very grateful to the members whom initially introduced it to me, THANK YOU ALL,

Jim, and Rebecca,
Mabolo, Cebu City.
