We stopped at Pats with family on our way to New Iberia and had actually eaten a light breakfast in anticipation of a great late lunch experience. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. We were seated overlooking Amy's Bayou and an enclosed area where there were 3 alligators and several turtles. It was a gorgeous day and we enjoyed the view from our table. There were 4 in our party, and we ordered the crawfish bisque, broiled seafood platter, shrimp and okra gumbo and a broiled red snapper filet. When the food arrived, we expected lots of flavor because everythig was covered with this orange seasoning. What a surprise to find that there was NO flavor. We were assured that the seafood was fresh and told that they even process it on site - noooo way. I have a house near the Gulf of Mexico and I eat fresh seafood that I catch all the time. I agree with some other comments about the "tourist trap" vibe. Its a shame because I'll bet this was a great place in it's day, where lots of locals and tourists alike gathered to eat and fellowship. What a disappointment (by the way, we spent $120+).
