The family that operators Lin's Kitchen Chinese Restaurant operated China Hot restaurant in Shreveport before opening this restaurant in Bossier City, across the river. The restaurant is located in an "off the beaten path" new residential area off the Shed Road interchange of I-220. . It appears that most of their business is carry out but there is a small 7 or 8 table eating area on site. Lin's Kitchen is operated by an industrious young Chinese family who learned the American trade in New York City, which explains their notation on the menu of "New York Style". If you enjoy Chinese food, you know there are vast differences in style from a Cantonese or Hong Kong style Chinese restaurant from other styles. Lin's Kitchen definitely has a New York slant. There is nothing particularly wonderful at Lin's Kitchen, however, it is good and relatively inexpensive Chinese food. I have never had anything bad there and you are served a large serving of everything that you order. My family likes the typical American-Chinese (what we see on menus here in the United States is different from what you see on a menu in China) food with a preference for anything spicy, and Lin's kitchen does a nice job with everything we order. What makes it "New York Style", to me, is that the sauces are just a little different than what you get in most Chinese restaurants locally.
The restaurant has recently replaced the tables and chairs which were not very high quality when the restaurant first opened maybe two year ago with more substantial furniture. The lunch and dinner combos serve you a lot of food for not much money. The owners are nice people too. Nothing special, but a good value. Give it a try.
