“Authentic Italian! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

Visited on Friday to eat spaghetti and ravioli with friends. As usual great food. Mr. Poci greated us and visited with kids and my son ate his favorite meatball poboy. Food is excellent. Consistent. Never a bad meal. Best part is you can shop for olive oils and spices along with other gourmet items. Definitely our favorite Italian restaurant!

“You Got To Know How”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

Besides being about the best muffalettas in Baton Rouge along with po-boys on real New Orleans french bread, it has an old-timey atmosphere that just can't be beat. You are greeted by Mr. Poccorello himself, the owner-operator who takes the orders at the counter. The kitchen is manned by family members and is partially visible from the front! It truly has grocery items (mainly Italian) and a real-deal Italian wine selection which is small but comprehensive. Poccrello (Pocce) likes people to buy in whole orders. This cash only operation is a great dining experience. His sandwiches and plate lunches cannot be beat. Many patrons order take out. I figured out a while back that the best thing to do is: order a whole muff and ask Pocce to wrap half for lunch the next day; buy and Italian beer to enjoy with the first half; then pick up a bottle of Italian wine and place it on the counter to buy on the way out. Mr. Poccorello will love seeing you come for lunch or dinner. Salute!

“I hope to go back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

While in Baton Rouge with family we stopped in for carry-out spaghetti. What an intriguing place! I hope to go back someday and browse more as well as try other dishes. The spaghetti and meatballs was terrific - there's just a hint of sweetness in the sauce.

“GRUFF OWNER - GOOD FOOD”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

"Mr. Pocce" the owner greets you with not a smile on his face but don't let that stop you from trying his really good po-boys n muffs. He's really a great guy - you just gotta get him talking to know he's got a nice joint going there. Roast beef po-boys rival New Orleans. Great wine selection and even some wine tasting classes! The red gravy on his meatballs is sweet - so be sure you like that type of red gravy. The potatoe salad is really yum. Hey, for under $10 go enjoy a sandwich and pretend it's kinda Italian!

“Real Italian”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

Baton Rouge doesn't have a Little Italy but it does have places like this that fit into that category. It has groceries, wine and a really good menu. My fav is the Italian sausage which is made on site .Clean place, god food!
