“Get Here Early!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

This is one of the best that Baton Rouge has to offer. The food is excellent whether you want a steak or seafood. Their occasinal appetizer specials are always a great surprise. Somebody in the kitchen has an imagination when it comes to food items and it works. Reviewers, as well as myself, are not kidding about early arrival. Any day that they are open folks are crowding the place at 5 for a 5:30 opening time. Service has always been very good. GO EARLY and don't hog the table so others can enjoy this great food!

“Bon Appetit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Reluctant to tell you how good this restaurant really is because it is already so hard to get a table. Go early or be prepared to wait. Upgrade salad with portobello mushroom is delicious and I have no idea how they can make something as simple as crawfish etoufee magnificient but they do. Downside is they only serve it when crawfish are in season, so they are fresh.

“Wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

From the road it looks like a plain little place I would usually pass. Inside very nice & relaxed. Had the tournedos [so good & tender] cooked to order. The bernais sauce was lucious along w/the crab & shrimp. It came w/their salad & dressing, also a half potato w/cheese melted on top. So good. Service was wonderful. Would love to return & try something different next time. Menu looks good.

“Two problems....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

My last review of this restaurant was in June 2011. We dined there last evening and two glaring problems were apparent: 1. Parking is a problem 2. Too many people like the food. We arrived at 6:20 pm on Mon.... that's early for us. I circled the lot twice and parked next door. All the tables were taken but the wait was only 5 minutes. We got a prime table in the main area and the waitstaff was outstanding. No kidding, we have NEVER been disappointed with either the food or the service and I left a 25% tip. The marinated crab "finger" claws are one of our favorite appetizers. My wife chose her all-time favorite fish, Louisianne, which has crab meat over black drum sauteed in lemon-butter. Excellent. I chose one of the special dishes, spicey blackened red fish covered with crab meat and a creamy sauce: I out-ordered my wife! The house salads are always fresh and the bread is hot and fresh. I do not like to open the little packets of butter, but that's a minor irritant on the whole. Dessert was a raspberry cheesecake and a triple chocolate ramiken. The cheesecake won. The 4 house chardonnays were excellent and the meal was $120 with tax and before tip. I repeat that there a many fine-dining venues in Baton Rouge and this is where we take out-of-town guests. I rate it #1 and I highly recommend it.

“Excellent dinner choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

I picked this restaurant based on the number one rating on tripadvisor. Went on at Saturday night at 5:30, waiting 30 minutes for a table. The pace was packed with an hour wait by 6 pm. Service was great, food was outstanding. We ordered the Au Gratin, Fried Cafish and 2 items from the kids menu. All were fabulous. Not hard to see why the reviews are so great. The is a great choice for dinner in Baton Rouge.
