“Comfortable and clean”

A business partner and I split a room here during a business trip while in Baton Rouge. The hotel is clean and the location is great. The hotel is located right off the main highway and there are several restaurants in close proximity.

The rooms are very clean and comfortable, exactly what you would expect from a Marriott property. Breakfast is typical continental, nothing special.

First stop of a family roadtrip. Located near a hospital so it was a very quiet area. Hotel was clean, and staff was very nice. Wasn't far from several restaurants, and near the Bluebonnet Swamp. Breakfast was what you would expect for a free hotel meal. Would certainly stay again.

We did not have reservations, drove up as it was getting dark and hoped to find a clean place. It exceeded our expectations. The room was nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable, the bed linens good. The shower and bathroom area very nice. The staff very friendly and welcoming.

Room Tip: Water is soft, do not put too much shampoo in your hair :).

Drove in without reservations needing a room and were pleasantly surprised. Had rooms available and even met our request for a first floor room ( My mother doesn't do elevator s) Rooms were clean and nice. Beds were comfortable. Desk clerk was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.

The Pros:
*The rooms are very clean & the staff extremely friendly and welcoming.
*Elevator.
*The free full breakfast is VERY nice.

The Cons:
*The vanity lighting was pathetic... extremely dim. I sat one of the lamps on it for added light but it didn't help much. This was very frustrating when trying to shave, apply makeup, etc.
*The bathtub was dangerously slippery and there wasn't a tubmat available.
*The closet was tiny and too small to hold the items of our family of 3.

My personal opinion is that the new contemporary decor is taste specific and although nice I prefer the pre-reno decor which oozed southern charm.
It is a very nice place overall.

We stayed here 1 night. The room was clean and the staff was polite. The breakfast was average. There were hot eggs and sausage but the eggs were lacked seasoning and the sausage greasy. There were some other options such as fruit. Overall it was a solid Fairfield experience.

Indoor pool and exercise room were a real plus for our two-night stay. Staff was quite courteous and helpful. When we arrived the AC in our room was not working. We were offered the opportunity to change rooms, but chose not to. The AC was repaired for our second night. I would have expected that the heating/AC system be checked as a routine checklist item. In the morning after our arrival, housekeeping stopped by to ask what services we wanted. We asked for towels to be replaced and the trash to be emptied. We did not want the sheets replaced nor the beds made up. When we returned in the evening, the towels had not been changed nor the trash emptied. Somebody dropped the ball. The attendant at the front desk said we could come down and get fresh towels--that was the wrong answer from our perspective. We requested towels be brought to the room. We got two small towels and two wash cloths. My wife returned to the front desk to get bath towels. The attendants apologized for both the problems with the AC and housekeeping. What was most annoying is that for our inconvenience we were offered a couple bottles of water or an item from the snack shop. That apparently is the standard way "inconveniences" are compensated. We didn't expect a free room for our inconvenience, but an offer of a small discount on a future stay would have been a nice gesture.
