“Not bad”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2013

The motel is "old style" - with the small office in a separate building, and each unit having an outdoor entrance. There is an outside staircase to access the 2nd level.

However, if you can get around that, it's not a bad place. Everything was very clean and working, and the rooms feature a refrigerator and microwave. The furniture was nicer than I expected. The wall dispenser with shampoo and shower gel in the bathroom might not please everyone, but was quite adequate.

Room size was good, and included a desk and chair as well as an upholstered chair. The desk was well suited for working and offered a plethora of outlets for charging all your electronic devices (three on the desk and then a wall unit with six outlets (four of which were free).

Parking was convenient (at your door if staying on the first floor). The morning breakfast was fine - but did not quite live up to the billing that was given by the check-in clerk - which made it sound like the menu at Bob Evans. :) Notable features included a waffle maker and biscuits and gravy. (I saw other guests had made themselves sausage biscuit sandwiches, but the sausage bin was empty when I arrived and not refilled.)

Room was reasonably priced, and clerk said the desk was staffed 24 hours a day.

Drawbacks: the place is a bit off the interstate; you have to carefully follow the signs.
There was considerable road noise when I arrived (motel is located on a highway) although it seemed to die down when I went to sleep. Also, you will easily be able to hear other guests in the parking lot, as they will be packing their cars literally just outside your door.

I would stay here again; it is a nice change from regular chain hotels.

Room Tip: Rooms in the building at the back of the property (away from the road) should be quieter.

“Good pit stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Certainly not a destiation, but a good place to hop off 64 and get a night of sleep, room was outdated, and their may have been a little late night activity going on in some areas of the parking lot. Overall not bad for a cheap night, off the interstate.
