“Unforgettable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

Woodford Reserve was the first stop for my boyfriend and I on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The back road we took to the distillery definitely added to the experience and anticipation of going to a foreign concept of bourbon distillery. The facility is gorgeous, very picturesque and well kept. We took the basic tour which cost $7.00. Woodford has definitely taken customer feedback into consideration. They provide earphones so you can hear the tour guide at all times which is helpful when you are in a large group and going into the louder parts of the tour. They have also added a bus that will transport you to the bottom of the hill. This was especially helpful for those who have trouble walking.

The passion of their bourbon is definitely seen through each member of the Woodford Reserve team. I felt like the tour guide was actually apart of the bourbon making process himself with all of the information he knew and how much passion in explaining each step of the process. If you get a chance, ask about the cat named Elijah who has made Woodfood Reserve his home, lucky cat!

The facility has paid attention to every detail to make the tour an experience you won't forget!

“Simply amazing place to go!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

If you are a true Bourbon fan, this is the "boutique" distillery to visit. Not only did we get the best tour on our Bourbon Trail weekend, we learned a great deal and got to experience true small batch production. The snack bar has good eats and the store has lots of cool stuff to take back home! Well worth the trip to Versailles

“Wonderful Bourbon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

We took the Corn to Cork tour of this distillery. The grounds are spotless with perfect flower beds. This historic place should not be missed. The two hour tour was very educational.

“Wonderful tour & experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Great location near Lexington, & the tour guide does an excellent job explaining all facets of the distillery operation. Woodford is the only distillery that uses copper kettles to distill from, which makes for an interesting question to ask. The atmosphere at the visitor center is very classy, with a great gift shop. Even tho they charge for the tour, I would still recommend it highly, as they do an overall super, classy job. I liked how they let you experience how even adding a small amount of water to the bourbon makes a huge difference in the taste.

“Awesome, but drive there on the back roads”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

The distillery tour is awesome, and well documented in previous posts. My addition is to drive to the distillery using state road 1659, and not US60. It is a tiny road that winds along the creek past old, and closed distilleries. Take time to stop and take pictures. Taking US60 runs past a few horse farms, but is otherwise boring, but quick.
