“A beautiful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

We are celebrating our three year anniversary and on our way to Pigeon Forge area. We decided to try a bed and breakfast for the first time, and we're so glad Sharon and Dave made it so wonderful and memorable! Even with specific dietary issues, Sharon made a classy and delicious breakfast. My husband, skeptical about the B and B experience, said he would definitely love to return! The train added to the nostalgic atmosphere and we didn't hear it after we went to bed. The couple who stayed downstairs said it's one of the nicest places they ever stayed. We loved Scarlett's room! Thank you,Dave and Sharon!

With no specific plans made for lodging late in the afternoon, my wife called and spoke with Sharon, who instantly made her feel welcome. As it turns out, the Victorian House was our favorite place to stay during our 2 week trip (which included a multiple stay at the Peabody in Memphis). Sharon and Dave are quite hospitable, the accommodations are very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious and nutritious. I hope someday we have the opportunity to return to visit.

Room Tip: Any room should be acceptable.

The Victorian House is a wonderful place and it's hosts Sharon and Dave are great and super nice people. One can see all the love they put into it in every little detail. We felt absolutely comfortable and pampered and we will hopefully return soon. We can only recommend this B&B and give it the highest scores possible.
Thank you Sharon and Dave for your warm welcome and for giving us an unforgettable time!

Room Tip: They are all unique and great rooms.

The Victorian was wonderful B&B experience! The house is beautiful, filled with authentic antique furniture. We stayed for Memorial weekend and the house was filled with patriotic decor! The owners, Sharon & Dave, were very hospitable. My husband and I stayed in the Bonnie Blue room. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! The connecting bathroom does have a single person jacuzzi tub with connecting shower head - so relaxing! Breakfast was made from scratch both mornings - sausage and egg casserole with hashbrowns and ham, swiss, and grits casserole with apple crumble the next morning.

Mammoth Cave National Park is about a 20 minute drive north and Bowling Green is 20 minutes south. It was such a treat for us to celebrate our anniversary relaxing at the Victorian!

What an opportunity and pleasure it was for us to stay at the Victorian House Bed and Breakfast in Smiths Grove, KY. The decor is beautiful on the inside and the large yard is very well cared for on the outside. The wrap-around porch where we sat and drank our tea was magnificent - so peaceful and so enjoyable. We stayed in 'Melanies Room' and couldn't have enjoyed it more. The sheets were so nice and soft and the king-sized bed was extremely comfortable - maybe even could be described as therapeutic. Woke up feeling so refreshed. The large bedroom and the quaint bathroom were sparkling clean. Everything anyone could want was right at our fingertips....we found it amazing as to how ALL of our needs were met. We couldn't have asked for more. And, the food - exceptional and delicious. We were truly pampered by our host and hostess, Dave and Sharon who have gone far above the call of duty in providing a very wonderful and special experience for their guests. To be honest, we've never stayed in a bed and breakfast of this unique quality. We would gladly stay there again should our travels ever lead us in that direction.

This B&B has great potential and appears to have provided great service to others in the past who have stayed there, but unfortunately our experience was just okay. The home itself is beautiful and charming, but the owner, Sharon made it very clear to us (several times the day we arrived and the next day when we went to leave) that she is tired and wants to get out of the business (which we felt she was trying to sell to us before we left). While we were welcomed into the home, we got a slight feeling that it really didn't matter if we were there or not. We were also disappointed with breakfast. Maybe our expectations were too high due to what I've read from others reviews, but we were served mixed fruit (which my husband doesn't eat), 3 pieces of bacon each and a serving of caramel toast. The caramel toast was fair, but if you don't really care for sweets, it was a let down. The bacon was some of the best we've ever had though! We would have been more satisfied had we'd been offered eggs whether they were scrambled or cooked to order. If you enjoy taking showers do not stay in the Bonnie Blue room as it's bathroom has a small sit down tub similar to a MediTub. It was very awkward for taking a shower especially if you are an average sized to larger/taller person. The ceiling is angled at a slant over the but so you can barely stand upright comfortably to "shower". Also, if you are a light sleeper do not stay here as there are train tracks almost right next to the property in which trains pass by at least once an hour if not more frequently. I marked Location as being average because it was very close to I-65, but being that close to the train tracks was not so great for sleeping. This was my husband's first B&B experience and unfortunately it will probably be his last.

My husband and I had the privilege of spending Valentine's Day at this wonderful B & B! It was such a romantic place to stay- a lovely Valentine's dinner and a beautiful room (Scarlett Room) This B & B is full of history, and our host/hostess were so hospitable! Dave and Sharon told us such fun stories about their house. Sharon served us gourmet meals, and even offered a cookbook of her recipes for sale.
