“Great Location - Great Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

Second time at this location - just as wonderful as before. Downtown Pikeville is a beautiful place and this hotel is nestled right in the heart of it! The hotel is expanding so a little construction going on, but all for the better. Free parking garage is hooked on to hotel. Breakfast is usual Hampton food, but good and filling.

Room Tip: If you are going for super quiet, be sure to get a room that is not on the street side.

This is a very nice Hampton Inn but their staff needs to understand that customer service is important. Un-inviting, indifferent and unprofessional. They are always full of guests because it is about the only place in town to stay but they act like it. Doesn't matter to them even if you are a Honors member. Very dissapointed.

Hilton properties are usually my first choice when traveling for business or pleasure. This Hampton Inn measured up well to most of the others where I have stayed. The layout is a little different since it is in an urban environment. Unlike a similar Hampton Inn in downtown Raleigh, this property has a covered drive-through area along the side of the hotel for convenience during check-in. This area leads conveniently into the adjacent parking deck (parking is complementary). The front desk staff was helpful and promptly responded to a request for more blankets. The complimentary breakfast was the typical Hampton Inn offering and there were an abundance of staff keeping the items replenished. My biggest complaint was that our non-smoking room had an over powering smell of cigarette smoke. I complained to the front desk and they indicated that they would offer to move me, but the hotel was full and there were no other non-smoking rooms available.

Stayed here for 4 nights and staff could not have been more accommodating. They directed us to places to eat and other places to go. We were allowed to bring food in and eat at food court area plus other groups came down to play cards/games there. Very convenient to downtown and city park. Rooms were clean and neat. We overlooked street, but minimal traffic noise for a holiday week-end. Reasonable price and would recommend.

Room Tip: Adding a Hilton Garden Inn beside it and they will connect thru pool location by fall of 2013 so ind...

the hotel was very nice and in a great location in the city. This is the birthplace of the hatfield/mccoy fued. If you get a chance there is a lot of history you get discover. Be on the look out for the differently decorated bears around the city.

went on a mother daughter trip with my mom and daughter and AFTER the package was paid for then we was told the pool was closed...nothing taken off for that at all-worst part is this was picked cause it was supposed to be one of the nice hotels with a pool-the room was average and the beds only had 2 or 3 pillows that was terrible the beds was ok the fridge ran loud all night long and the room has no safe I called down to the desk to ask where the safe was she said just to bring your stuff down here and they would put it in their safe-really? the bathrooms was nice except the room we had the vent didn't work! Whoever cleans don't do a good job cause they made our beds poorly and left a mess on the mirrors...stuff all over the floor too...for the price no way never ever again I was so disappointed with this hotel it is not even funny...we will never ever come back. don't waste your time or your money
