“Lovely arts district with friendly artists”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Got going a little late in PM on Saturday, but the artists who were still open between 3-5:30 were very hospitable, and more than willing to talk about their work. All of them were from outside the Paducah area, and were fun to talk with .

“Lived there in the eighties....LOVE it now!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Spent the last bit of my youth in an apartment in Lowertown, in the mid-eighties. The restoration movement was just getting off the ground then, and I'm so gratified that they've taken it to the level that they have since. They really acheived an 'arts district' feel to the entire community.......something I used to daydream about when I first came to town in '74. Cudos......a 'must see' whenever you're in Paducah!

“This is where you need to go when your visit Paducah.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

Art, architecture. It's more residential than touristy. But very cool. Catch a festival or Saturday night on Broadway.

“Restoration and reincarnation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

Paducah has done what many cities only hope to do. We have been here 8 years now and continue to see the changes happenning. This town has taken many old beautiful homes that had been run down and on the verge of being lost for ever, as well as a downtown area tha was more than half vacant, and reinvented and revitalized most of it. We still haven't explored them all, but look forward to trying.

“Moving to Paducah”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

I live in a town just 30 miles away from Paducah, my home is for sale, I had hopes of moving to Paducah. Paducah boasts much more in the way of restaraunts and entertainment than the surrounding towns, however, it is struggling to keep the awesome lowertown artists here, as well as keeping our own citizens interested enough in the activities to ensure that the businesses downtown can cover their costs for the Downtown Afterdark activities on Saturday nights. Paducah has rich history, flavor, interested people. It IS a river city but the town does not boast jazzy floating restaraunt experiences or bluesy nightlife of a river city. If you are not into quilts, symphony orchestras, and 17 blocks of empty streets for what they call "Bike day" (bicycle) you could be in for a jolt for overpriced food, boring music and artists selling homes and leaving. Come ON Paducah, this is 2012, can we get a lil FUN here?
