“Just stayed last night, July 27”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

This is a beautiful property, very modern and clean.
The only reason it did not receive 5 stars is because of the pool area. The pool is inside, and the pool area has interior tile which is very slippery when wet. This is extremely dangerous, especially with younger children. The pool temperature was very chilly, as well, when it was supposed to be heated.
Overall, however, it was very nice. We would definitely stay again.

This is a fairly new property that is located on the Eastern side of Owensboro in an area that is beginning to expand with businesses and restaurants. We stayed there three nights.

The hotel itself is excellent. It is very clean and the staff is top-notch and very friendly. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The heating/cooling system is controlled through a wall mounted thermostat and allows you to have the fan run continuously...this helped to mask the noise from the highway, and the running and loud talking made by numerous young baseball teams staying at the hotel this past weekend.

The fitness center was excellent!

The restaurant is there as a convenience for those not interested in getting in their car and driving a short distance, but it is expensive and other than the drinks and coffee, the food is just average. However, I will not lower my opinion of the hotel based on the restaurant.

My rating of 4/5 is based on a factor that is not a normal situation at the hotel. I would have liked to have seen a bit more in-house security to manage the running and noise made by the baseball teams and their families who occupied many of the rooms on our floor. They played on the elevators...pushing all the buttons...and rushed into and out of the elevators when the doors opened...knocking several seniors around without ever apologizing. I know, some folk might say they were just being kids, but if their parents or coaches can't control them, the hotel must consider the comfort and safety of the rest of the guests and at least make a show at controlling the problem.

So, the hotel is a 5/5, except for when they have a locally sponsored sports activity where many visiting teams use the hotel...at those times it currently is a 3-4/5. I would expect that in the future they will address this issue in some way.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front side of the hotel to cut the traffic noise on the major highway out back...

This new Hotel in The 'Boro is the king of the crop. It even smells new. It kind of doesn't belong in Owensboro as its stylish an shiny. The city needed a place like this and it's a crown jewel.

What an outstanding facility! We stayed here on our way back from Holiday World. It's the perfect destination. Not only was Holiday World a blast, but this property was the perfect respite after a full day of fun. It would be perfect for a business trip or special occasion. Everything is new, modern, and well kept. Lovely decor, beautiful colors in the room. Outstanding service for check in and check out. Sleek modern open air restaurant that not only had TVs in each booth, but had fat and calories counts for every item on the menu. A great sundries shop, too. Well stocked fitness room. Nice pool. Delightful indoor and outdoor seating, including a nice outdoor table grill. Fabulous restaurants just a block away - Logans, Cheddars, Culvers, Mexican. One exit down are Chick fil A, Shoneys, and others.

This was one of the nicest, cleanest Courtyard Hotels we've ever stayed in. The room was HUGE! We will definitely stay here the next time we are in town.

Jimmy, Cornbread, Barbara, Sonya, they really put the extra effort into it. Plus it's a pretty nice property anyway.

Room Tip: some might prefer to not overlook the highway, but it's not that bad.

This is the second 'updated' courtyard property i have stayed at, the other being in Oregon. Very nice, clean, comfortable, modern, and very friendly and professional gentleman named Joe working the front desk when we checked in. Marriott should be happy they have this guy.
