We came to visit family in the area, so the fact that the hotel was very close to my in-law's house was very nice. Apparently there was something big going on the weekend we were there and most other hotels were booked. This hotel only had one room left when I called and they gave us a discount because we were paying cash when we arrived. As others have said, we did have a slightly difficult time finding the entrance even though we had directions and a GPS. When we arrived we found that they had given our room with 2 queen beds away, but they had one more room available located right next to the room where the managers live. It had 2 double beds which was not as comfortable as expected, but was manageable. The staff is VERY nice. Just down home country people, and they do live there. Their dogs are GREAT and do not bother anyone, but it was sort of strange to see them walking around behind the reception counter. Our room wound up being right next to the continental breakfast area, so it was nice to be able to get breakfast and carry it back to our room. Mostly packaged pastries, frozen pancakes and juice, but not bad. Room was clean, but sort of run down. Beds were comfortable enough and air conditioner/heater worked well. There were 4 adults and an infant staying in our room and we never had enough towels. They would only leave 2 towels at a time, so we had to keep going to the front desk to get more. Room was a little dark and dated, but we only came back to sleep, so it was fine. I agree with other reviews that even our non-smoking room smelled faintly of smoke, but it did not bother my asthma or allergies. We would stay there again if the nicer hotels in the area are booked up again, but it would not be my first choice.

Room Tip: I don't think it matters what room you choose because they are very likely to give you something...

A bit rundown, but overall experience good; reviews are generally correct, though tolerance levels of guests vary, making for different experiences...apparently rooms vary too

Pros: clean; great, hot shower; locks on doors; AC works well; got to bring my dog; managers on site 24/7; comfortable beds; good housekeeper; alarms and locks on side entrances; video surveillance; free wi-fi; laid back, friendly service; close to good restaurants; inside entrances; Starbucks within 1.5 miles

Cons: non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke....Bring a Glade plug in; dogs off leash (including mine)...don't stay here if you are afraid of dogs or have a mean dog; continental breakfast is all carbs + o.j. and apple juice; personnel smoke a lot outside...don't stay here if smoking offends you or triggers allergies
