Reserved the room 4 weeks in advance, when I arrived on the late evening of my reservation (10/18/2013), I was informed that they were "all filled up". I had my reservation papers and showed them to the lobby attendant, and was informed that they start selling reserved rooms at 9.p.m. I can't find that stipulation anywhere in the paperwork or on the website. Anyway, we finally got it straightened out and were given a room.
The room itself was beyond hellish. It smelled of old smoke and other smells I was afraid to try to identify, the sheets/pillows were a yellowish color, (we ended up sleeping on top of the bedspreads). The heater did not seem to work properly. There were multiple dead bugs, waterbugs I believe, laying around the room. After about 5 hours there, we decided we couldn't take it anymore, decided to take a shower so I could wash off the nasty feeling I had, only to discover that there was no hot water, only lukewarm and cold.
Went to check out, (4:30a.m), told the guy at the counter about it, got no answer but "sorry". I asked if a refund was possible, or even 1/2 off since the facilities did not seem to be up to human standards, but was denied. Needless to say, I will never return here, and I discourage anyone from even considering a stay here.
Side note - We chose this place because we waited too long to book a hotel for Tough Mudder in Maysville. This was the closest we could get, and still had to pay $60 for it. The only standards we had for a hotel room was clean, warm, and dry. This place only has the dry standard going for it.
