“Half moon package - very good stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed there from 8th of September for half moon party. We booed room online as a deal package for 3 night with breakfast incl plus tickets for the party and we paid 6.700 bath.
The price was great and accommodation more than we expected for the price.
Although is bit far away from the main market and shopping centre but taxis are available all day long.
However you can rent a car or motorbike if you are not scared to drive :)
There a lovely beach just 2 min walking from the bungalow, this is really what we needed.
Staff was very helpful and always smiling :)

For sure I would recommend This place to my friends and others.

This bungalow resort was very quiet when we were there. We got a free upgrade to a beachside bungalow which was great. The bungalow has a little bit dated interior but it is clean and spacious. All the bungalows have balconies overlooking or the beach or the nice garden and pool. Definitly the big plus of this resort is the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. If you are looking for a quiet place with a nice view of phagnan and surroundings this is great!

Stayed here for a week around the Full Moon Party. This is a beach front resort with its own swiming pool with sun loungers, resturant and two bars.

First thing I can't really understand the negative reviews on here. I've been to the island three times and stayed at a few different places and this ranks as number one for me. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and even serve you at your loungers which I wouldn't expect for somewhere so cheap. The basic rooms are a little on the small side but who spends time in their room when you have a pool and beach right on your doorstep?

This place is ideal for those who want to party in Had Rin but have maximum chillage the next day. Its only 100 Baht in a taxi to the Had Rin beach. Big groups of lads / girls looking to 'go mental' would probably not like this resort but it is ideal for party goers who want the best of both worlds.

Room Tip: I'd go for a superior room as the extra space is probablt worth the money.

We arrived in koh phangan for the FMP, with no advance booking...

We walked around and was impressed by the beauty of this resort... Everything looked brand new...

We paid 1,500 THB for the tiniest aircon room I've ever seen... But it was brand new & super clean...

Our room was located in front of the bar that had loud music pumping until 11:00pm. There was no one drinking at the bar, so they should have ended it earlier!

There was a cat in our room, and I had a severe allergic reaction to the cat hairs found all over the room...

We checked out the next day... It's too far from haad rin...

Would not stay here again.

we were travelling as a big group of 10 people, koh phanang was a stop specifically for the BLACK MOON PARTY and this is why we chose this hotel as it was just a short beach walk away from the party.

the hotel itself is in the middle of nowhere on a beach, so i suggest that you hire bikes to get around, we hired bikes for the day to cruise and see the island it was perfect..............
The hotel does have a great pool overlooking the ocean, it was clean and the gardens surrounding it very pretty. the beach and sea in front wasn't that great and you can't swim in the sea, but the pool is perfect and so relaxing.

we all took deluxe rooms and they perfect for our night there.

The staff are very friendly, and even though the drinks and food were slightly more expensive then other places they were great, and the food portions very big, the dinner , breakfast & lunch that we all ate there were very tasty.

We've just returned from the trip of a lifetime in Thailand and our favourite part of the trip was most definitely at Morning Star. The staff were wonderful and even though the site we booked through got our booking wrong, Morning Star agreed to the changes and were very accommodating throughout our 5 day stay.

The staff are lovely and became our friends by the end - Nnenn, who works in the pool bar was so lovely and chatty, remembering all of our names and providing a really good service. For the money, this hotel is really great.

The beach is quiet and peaceful and we never struggled for loungers, there's also a really nice hammock to relax in. The pool is great too, clean and right next to the beach.

As we were a group of 8 girls heading to the full moon party, we appreciated being 10 minutes out of town away from the craziness of haad rin, but only a short journey in. I've read some of the other reviews from families with children and yes I'd say it isn't great if you have kids as there was a really loud pre-party with DJ, but for us, this was perfect - we absolutely loved it!

Spacious clean rooms, safety deposit, big beds, tv, great air con....

Can't wait to return there next year.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one week after the full moon party. We showed up unexpected (we had not advanced booked) and asked if they had anything available for the days we wanted to stay and they booked us, we had to pay half for the deposit right then. When we showed up a few days later, we were booked, they put us in the farthest bungalow on the right, right in front of the beach and it was astounding! Air conditioning, mini bar, sooo clean, great bathroom, floor to ceiling windows with a direct view of the ocean. To get your room clean with new sheets every day for free, you just need to leave the key at reception every day.

The pool is very clean, shallow and quaint. When we were there there was virtually nobody there, and we got slow poolside service (but who cares, it's Thai time). The owners (whom I believe are Russian) never acknowleged us or said hello which we thought was a tad offputting, but it didn't ruin my stay. It is a little hard to find off the beaten track, but it's a good thing. If you need to walk to the stores, it's perhaps a 10 minute walk to the main road.
This was pretty much my favorite place to stay on Ko Phangan. The people who work there are very friendly, if you want them to hook up your ipod to the speakers at the pool, or the restuaraunt just ask.
Note: you get a flat screen with 6 channels, but the channels are Aljazeera, RT, V television which is chinese music video channel, a Dutch channel, a Vegan channel, and something else. If you have a laptop or anything, bring a connector for the flat screen if you want to watch movies, because you'll get sick of these channels!
P.S they have free wifi, no computers, but you can a laptop for an hour for 150 baht if need be.
All in all, LOVED IT!!
