“Great hotel in the heart of Louisville!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2011

Stayed in the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Louisville located right across from the Yum Center. Great location for walking around downtown. Hotel was very well kept and had very nice public areas. Did not get to try the pool but looked great!! Would recommend to others to stay. Of course, I don't like to have to pay for parking when you're already paying the room bill.

We stayed here, while passing though town.
Not really impressed with the reception staff... several youth groups staying at the property.
OK pool... my children enjoyed it.

Clean, comfortable... but nothing special.

In L'ville for a conference, and couldn't stay at the conference hotel, so we booked here. Glad we did. Free Wi-fi. Free shuttle to and from the airport (thanks Mary). Warm and friendly front desk staff who jam to the music with you. Comfortable rooms (okay, no sleep number beds, but who wants them anyway?). Across the street from Yum Center and walking distance to great restaurants and the Ohio River. Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory is 4 short blocks away. Free use of lobby computers, not just for checking in for your boarding pass, but total internet access with printers. You gotta try this place. Breakfast in the morning is a buffet--$10.95 is a tad steep, even for a buffet--how much bacon can you eat? No other meals served at the hotel. Bed was very soft and difficult to get comfortable.

I chose this hotel because Marriott is a brand name that I equate to have clean and comfortable rooms. This hotel did not even come close to meeting my expectations. The hallways themselves were unkept and outdated. The room was GROSS and in deperate need of a paint job. There was a random micro fridge in the corner and I put my bag down on top of it for 2 seconds and the bottom got sticky. The wallpaper is peeling and the windows are down right dirty. This is definitley not what you would expect from a Marriott hotel, it could because it is a franchise location, not sure

We stayed here for a night and it was a really nice hotel. The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean and in a great location. The room was comfortable and big enough for the two of us. The bathroom was clean. I love the Marriott shower heads. No low flow. Awesome! The pool and hot tub were pretty nice. Nothing special but no complaints. The location is convenient to the minor league stadium, Fourth Street Live, and the Slugger Museum. You have to pay for parking but it’s a discounted rate. No free breakfast either. It was quiet and we had a great night’s sleep. No Ambien required.

The location of this Courtyard is ideal for downtown. Easy access in/out of the parking garage. We were able to walk to pretty much all of the attractions (Ali Centre, Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, 4th Street Live!, & Riverwalk) The staff was friendly and our room was very clean & comfortable. The only complaint I have about this particular Courtyard is the shower curtain (am I splitting hairs here?). I for one am claustrophobic in the shower and have clear or very light shower curtains in my home ... they had a very dark blue (almost navy blue) shower curtain ... I had to remove the front half of the outter shower curtain so I could see in the shower. I felt like i was taking a shower in a closed closet. I hope the design staff at hotels realize there are people who have this 'phobia' and don't appreciate bathing in the dark! Otherwise, a good hotel.
