Its a good place to stay cheap and clean but there are to many homeless and outside its not safe. People sitting around the hotel looking at you like they want to rob you. We walk 8 blocks to the hospital everyday and we see a lot of stuff.

I stayed at the Hotel the night I left Louisville back in February 2013. I had been a resident of Wayside in the program for women in transition called Safe Haven. I thank God for the two months in the program. The hotel room was large and very clean. I knew that some of the clients lived there, even knew some of them. But we have to remember, every one goes through hard times at some point in our life. Some have to fight harder to get back on their feet, some sad to say never make it.

Omg I still can't get past almost staying here. I booked a room because I had a training scheduled at this hotel. I arrived and noticed all the people that were milling around late at night, as I arrived late. It was odd, almost if the people lived there. I got my key and as I started towards my room I had a very uneasy feeling. All of the people appeared to be sketchy. I stopped at a kiosk to show my room key as it was posted to show key. I noticed a long hallway on the other side where many people were either standing or sitting. It seemed strange. I went to the elevator where there were several people. I could smell alcohol and the people in the elevator were once again sketchy. . The lady on the elevator told me I had to scan my card to get to the floor I needed. It was obvious at this point that these people lived here and they were eyeballing me almost as if they were suspicious . In hindsight they were probably wondering what in the heck I was doing there! I got to my floor and a man is sitting in a chair right outside the elevator with no shirt on, very inappropriate. I go to my room, open the door, and someone's belongings are in there. I go back down and the clerk offers to send security back up with me in case I get another wrong room. I'm a little more concerned now. I go back up by myself though, run into several more sketchy people. Get into my room and there is blood on the toilet and public hair. I get on my Facebook to check in and one of my former classmates informs me that I'm pretty much at a homeless shelter. Yep, that makes sense. I was beginning to think I was at a halfway house. The clerk gave me money back and I appreciate it.

Hotel Louisville is truly a hotel with a mission. Since 2009 it has been owned and operated by the Wayside Christian Mission, a not-for-profit organization that offers many programs to help people in transition. The hotel provides on the job training and transitional housing to clients in the program. A group of us stayed at the hotel. We found the staff to be very courteous and professional. The sleeping rooms and bathrooms were large and clean. There is not a bar onsite, but the coffee shop and restaurant serve good food. It is in a great location - walking distance to 4th Street Live!. The room rates are very reasonable. This is a unique place - the traveler gets a great value and is giving back as well. We will stay here next time we visit Louisville.

We were stuck staying here because every other hotel was booked, but I'll never come back ever again. The hotel doesn't smell good at all, housekeeping was constantly running out of towels. They were cleaning at 9 p.m. at night and swiped their cards and walked into our rooms without knocking! The service is slow. During a couple of the nights that we were there, we heard people constantly yelling and running up and down the halls at 3:45 a.m. We had to call security to get them to stop so we could sleep. The hotel is also located in a sketchy part of town. The carpet in the rooms felt sticky. Some of the furniture was breaking. No continental breakfast included in the cost. If you want a clean, worry-free stay, don't come here.

I recently stayed at Hotel Louisville and was very impressed. The first thing I noticed was ample, convenient parking. Then, upon entering the hotel, I was greeted by a friendly, helpful staff. It was refreshing to see such efficient, pleasant workers. My room was very clean and restful. The bed was one of the most comfortable ones that I have ever slept on in a hotel. The food was delicious. As a matter of fact, it was so good that I ate all my meals there during my 5-day stay in Louisville. The prices were very reasonable—a real bargain! I have already recommended Hotel Louisville to several of my friends, and I will definitely stay there again when my travels take me back there.

I stayed at Hotel Louisville recently and was pleasantly surprised by the southern hospitality that is just hard to find in hotels today. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the food wonderful. In the future when I stay in Louisville, I will return to this wonderful old hotel. The price was the best in the downtown area and the parking was great. I also discovered this was a training hotel and that is likely the reason the price was so good, however, the trainees seem to doing their job. This is a hotel with a mission and will support it in the future with my business.
