We attended a wedding on June 10 in the ballroom of the hotel - GORGEOUS, great food, and great banquet servers - and we loved the stay.
We were in a double double bedded room - so comfy, a tad small but the space was well-used (we had a desk with any amentity you could think of... you could even print from your own computer to a printer in the lobby.
I loved the character and charm of the hotel, BUT...
We did have a very creepy incident... our friends we were staying with had their debit card "accidentally misplaced" in the bar, but when she called and cancelled the debit card in front of the bar tenders it suddenly appeared. THEN, I came up to the room during the reception and the door opened (with a key) - it was a man dressed as a bell hop. When he realized someone was in the room he took off down the hall. I was really shaken up and called the front desk - no one was sent to our room. It was really scary b/c the servers in the bar had been advised to bring the debit card to the wedding reception if it was found (when it was missing) and then someone came into our room (during the reception hours). We told the desk manager, he was very nice, but didn't ask many details or offer any type of compensation OR follow-up. That makes me sad, as the concierge was very accomodating (my fiance forgot his dress shoes and the concierge really helped up in the pinch) and the hotel is such a gorgeous place... I wish that service was up-to-par, as well.
If you want to stay in a gorgeous hotel, this is your place. Just use cash in the bar!
