“I would give The Seelbach Hilton Louisville 10 points!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2011

We arrived to this hotel on Friday late afternoon, as my husband suffered from tooth ache and high fever, as a result of it. At the front desk was David. I asked him to help me find a dentist, since it was Friday, the hour most clinics were closed. It wasn't easy to found a dentist, but David didn't give up until he found a dentist that agreed to receive my husband.
David behaved above and beyond expectations. We will never forget him. He should be a model for receptionists. The whole staff at this hotel was very nice.
The hotel is situated in a beautiful building, inside and out.
The room we had (junior suite) was gorgeous, clean, spacious, comfortable beds, pleasant to be in.
This hotel on 4th street enjoys its' happy atmosphere, restaurants and live music, which we did not hear inside the room.
We ate at the Rira Irish Pub - very recommended. Even vegetarians like me will find dishes there.
If there was a possibility to show satisfaction in more then 5 points,
I would give The Seelbach Hilton Louisville 10 points!

We stayed at the Seelbach Hotel last week-end and once again were thrilled with every detail. I attended a conference at the hotel on Friday and have to say the lunch meal was superb, certainly not ordinary conference fare. We had a room with a queen size bed and it was very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. The front desk staff even provided doggie treats for our puppy! The Kentucky Bourbon Ale and Bloody Mary steak in the Seelbach Bar are to die for. We had the opportunity to talk again with Larry Johnson, Concierge and hotel historian. We took his informative tour during our last visit. What an asset he is to the hotel. The Rookwood pottery in the Rathskeller is stunning. We have traveled all over the world and this is our favorite hotel.

Room Tip: Comfortable beds, very clean hotel.

The place is history left and right. The property alone is gorgeous. It is elegance and beauty everywhere.

The rooms are on the small side, and bathrooms smaller, but you have to think of the age of the building- things were built smaller back then.

The #1 thing I found unique to this hotel was it was quiet. No random yelling in the night on loud sounds coming through walls/floor/ceiling. It was very peaceful.

I did have trouble with the room safe twice and the room door had to be pulled all the way to the jamb before the key card would unlock.

Staff was informative and kind, room was very clean.

You are walking distance from all the bars/eateries at 4th street which is literally on the other side of the crosswalk, there is the Louisville slugger factory and the waterfront park.

You walk right onto Fouth Street, center of Louisville entertainment and food. Hotel is very classy with a good staff to complement. I would recommend staying here, espically near the weekend.

average at best. The rooms are smallish.....granted this is an older building and very charming so I was willing to excuse the room size. However all the beds are Queen sized unless you upgrade to a suite I believe. Bathrooms are small as well but fucntion well. The decor was fine location was right by Fourth Street Live a cornicoupia of bars, restaurants and night life however the bars and clubs are closed on Sunday so we didn't get to go there the Sunday before Labor Day which is a huge party day so that was a disappointment since it was my birthday as well! More on that in a another review. Staff was all right. Friendly at the very least but nothing memorable. However the valet and bell staff are extremely nice and we enjoyed our experiences with them. All in all this was ok but in my opinion not worth the price charged online (you'd be better off naming your own price on Priceline to get a better rate!).

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room...they are larger but it's still just a queen bed.

I stayed here in July and especially enjoyed the staff. The shuttle drivers took me to and from my business location, as well as the airport. The front desk staff was also kind and helpful. The Presidential Suite's evening snacks were great, as were the staffers. I especially enjoyed talking with the gentleman who also leads the hotel ghost tours. He has a definite flair for telling an interesting story and has met many interesting people.

My room was clean and comfortable. Because it was a historic hotel, the room was a bit smaller than most hotels, but had everything I needed. The bed linens were smooth, crisp, and comfy. I'd definitely stay here again.
