“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

This hotel was really good. I love the location, it is fantastic. The lobby area is beautiful, big open concept and glass elevators. We were on a very high level and it does give you a sense of vertigo if you look down. Our room had a fantastic view. Pretty room, though we never use the room too much in Louisville (we're always out and about).
Check in was easy, check out the service was fantastic. The people were just so nice. They even complimented my shoes which always wins me over.
Bed was comfy. Room was very clean. Good stay overall.

We attended a concert at the YUM center and decided to stay here for a quick overnight. Turned out to be a great choice. The hotel is a short walk to the center with overstreet tunnels in case of bad weather. The hotel is clean and properly staffed. It was the staff that made the whole expereince so pleasant. The front desk surprised us with free margaritas (alwasy a nice way to arrive). Our room was ready and perfectly comfortable. Had the breakfast buffet which frankly was the best we have had in some time. The restaurant staff was very good and the chefs made several visits to the buffet for feedback and friendly Customer chat.

Room Tip: stay above 4th floor to minimize traffic noise.

I got a good deal on this hotel through a last minute booking deal, and it is a good thing it was cheap. Beds were very uncomfortable and squeaky, Hope they replace them soon. Walls were thin, and could hear conversations going until well after midnight (on Sunday night) in the lobby in our room. Room overall was not impressive, bathroom was old/outdated for this type of hotel. No whirlpool in the pool area, although pool area was very clean. and although I know this is typical for upscale hotels, but really $10 fee for internet, come on. Location was the only thing this hotel had going for it, right at 4th St. Live! But it would not be worth the full room price in my opinion.

The Hyatt Regency Downtown is located right in the heart of Louisville. You can walk to so many attractions as well as the Convention Center, the Louisville baseball park, the Cathedral of the Assumption, the Ohio River park, the Yum center and 4th Street Live (the restaurant/bar district). Arrive by car and park in the garage or have a taxi bring you from the airport. You won't need a car, but if you want one, there is a car rental lot within walking distance.

The staff at the Hyatt, the Sway (restaurant & lounge), Einsteins Bagels, and the on-site gift shop could not be nicer. To a person they were efficient, kind, considerate, professional and pleasant to speak with. Service in the restaurant was always given with a smile, although not sure what happens in that kitchen that causes the orders to come out so slowly. I will say, one of the chefs/cooks needs to bone up on their skills. Overall the food was excellent, but more variety to the menu would be welcome. Try the buffet in the morning - everything on that line is delicious and most of it is prepared with a healthful point of view.

The room was large but the bathroom was awkwardly laid out and oddly small. The bed was comfy, sheets and linens perfectly clean and crisp. Both the iron and the hair dryer needed to be replaced because they were broken at check in. But the staff did remedy the problem almost instantly.

The lobby is gorgeous with lots of comfortable seating and work spaces. All the common areas of the hotel are perfect. In fact, they made me feel the rooms could be nicer.

Room Tip: Ask for the view of the Ohio River - beautiful to look at and a whole lot quieter than the 4th Stree...

We stayed here for a concert at the Yum Center. Its great because you can get to the Yum Center without walking outside. They room was very nice and clean. And there are plently of places to eat within walking distance to the hotel.

Great place to stay in Louisville walking distance to many great places to eat and some free outdoor music. The hotel was clean, quiet and helpful staff. The lobby with the elevators in the center was a nice touch. The meeting rooms and food served during the meeting was top quality, all and all a nice place for either a business or pleasure trip.
