If you enjoy European and American history you'll love this museum! I wish it had existed when I was studying European history in high school as it would have enhanced my education greatly to see first hand what we were reading about. The permanent collection contains both European and American history items, biographies, some hands-on items, and an impressive collection of arms. The rotating exhibits are incredible in their variety and they keep a person wanting to come back to see what's next. My first experience was with the Pirates, then Da Vinci, and we keep going back for more such as the Civil War and Samuri. The interpreters are excellent in their various presentations and very friendly and answer any questions to the best of their ability. All the staff is actually, volunteer or paid. There's something there for every age group. It's the first museum I've ever visited that created a desire to join as a member as well. The museum is well maintained, the exhibits are well lit, restrooms are clean and kept stocked, it has 2 elevators for patrons with mobility issues. I recommend a full day there if you enjoy exploring exhibits in depth.
