Me and a friend of mine stayed at this Comfort Inn over the weekend, and it was habitable however there was some problems. There was scuff marks all over the walls, stains on the floors, the bed was hard, and the cleaning peronnel just did the very very basic cleaning of the room. It is across from a club, and there is a lot of noise outside from the club and the busy street at night. If you are wanting a place to stay for cheap close to the action this will work, but personally I would rather drop the 30 bucks extra and stay somewhere nicer.

My friend booked us this room because of the great rate he landed on some internet deal (kind of like the deal he got on some bogus NFL playoff tickets a couple years ago) When we got there it was obvious why the price was so low. Immediate concerns were raised when I noticed that our 27 inch Zenith TV was bolted down to the dresser with what Iooked like railroad spikes. And I certainly don't mind a smoke now and then out socially, frankly the smell is often pleasant to me, but I draw the line on using an ashtray for a pillow, which essentially is what the floor in the room is. I've experienced more tantalizing aromas wafting from my childs overstuffed diaper disposal. Oh, I'm sorry, I should explain, I had to sleep on the floor because the guy in charge of booking the hotel screwed up and booked a single king-size bed room for 4 grown straight men. Shower time was like a shift change on a submarine. If someone says the line "those aren't pillows" to me one more time I may slip into a coma.

Make sure to bring your own toiletries, too. The bar of soap in the shower had a five o'clock shadow when we arrived.

My husband and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend and were surprised at the value we got for this hotel. As a warning, it is across the street from a night club and we did have one night where there were some loud people outside--but overall, the hotel was clean, the staff was pleasant, the continental breakfast was good, and the location for the price was awesome! Beyond the one night where there were loud people outside, the only other complaint I had was that the maids threw away my personal bar of soap. I'm not sure why they did so, but I was a little annoyed at that.

The night started out fine as the room was comfortable and clean. As the night progressed the noise increased. The motel is directly across the street from a night club. We heard noises such as, glass being dumped into trash bins, police sirens, police megaphones and people walking back from the club singing and slamming their motel doors. And if that wasn't enough, at midnight we were alarmed to hear numerous tow trucks beeping as they backed up to remove cars from the motel parking lot. Imagine my surprise as they headed for my vehicle next. We were to have a tag identifying our vehicle on the the dash which was not explained at check-in. With that problem solved we lay in bed for what seemed an eternity trying to sleep. The noise continued. At 4AM (with the spring forward time change) my husband and I could not take it anymore. I called the front desk to complain about the noise. He offered for us to leave immediately and he would refund us. We left. I have visited 13 countries and 44 states and never been as disappointed as I was at Comfort Inn Downtown Louisville, Kentucky.
