“Perfect for special occasion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

Food is outstanding. Great atmosphere. We were there in November when the regular pianist was working...he was great. When we were there last week there was a sub on the piano...not as good. We will continue to stop there as we drive through Lousviille in the future

“Excellent, perfect evening with friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

We were invited out with another couple and was pleasantly surprised. The fried quail was fanastic, breading was crisp and the sausage stuffing was superb. I ordered their special, Shrimp and scallops pasta with a fried oyster topping. Desert was first rate, flourless chocolate torte and our friends ordered the creme brulee. Both deserts to lust for. The price for 4 with wine, desert, salads. soups and main entree was less that $200.

“Great Find In Old Louisville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

Truly a great find in the old Louisville section of town, It is in the Mayflower Hotel and brings back memories of elegant, leisurely old time dining with live piano background music. It is a blast from the past. It is like out of a 50's and 60's movie and quite similar to the better more elegant European restaurants of today and yesterday.

The food is truly among the best in town and we should know as we eat out about 3 or more night a week and have frequented all the top rated places in town over time. I rate it at 2 Michelin Stars or over 4 AAA stars.

I am a beef guy and their filet done "Pittsburg Style" is one of the best that I have had in quite a while. Great appetizers, like the crab cakes and my wife likes the scallops. Salads are huge and quite different. They feature a good variety of meat and sea food entries. Very good wine selection as well.

Now that we found it , we will add it to our list of our regular places to eat at for up scale dining

“Slooooow food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2013

We stopped in on a Monday evening for an early dinner. The place soon was nearing capacity due to it's reputation as a local jewel. The restaurant boasts a full bar but there was no bartender. The three servers and the hostess could have used roller skates as they took orders, mixed drinks and served food. They helped each other and did their best to keep up. Good thing this is a comfortable, old style place with a good piano playing singer, and "rat pack" music during his break. Don't plan to eat there before a game or show, but definitely plan to eat there.

“Stopped for a drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2013

Stopped here as part of the Urban Bourbon trail. Attentive friendly service. Bartender was knowledgeable about the bourbons and made several suggestions. Strange at first was they had to move the Bourbon or flowers to speak with you, it is different, yet we enjoyed seeing the flowers considering it was late November. There is a picture posted by another traveler to give you a good idea. Piano player was very good and we had a nice talk with him as well. They have their own parking lot adjacent to the property.
