“Unique and delicious!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2013

Our dinner was fantastic. Our server was attentive, knew the menu well and made some great recommendations. The combination of southern cuisine with the oriental flavors was very unique and tasty and the presentation was interesting and artistic.

Started with the Chicken and Waffles and Octopus Bacon, then did Smoked Brisket and Pork Shoulder, then finished with the Togarashi Cheesecake and Sorghum & Grits Ice Cream.

Overall, it was a delicious meal, and look forward to returning to try something else.

“Nice night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

Visited milkwood with friends one evening and had a pleasant experience. Staff was friendly and attentive. Had drinks at the bar with waiting for the table to be reset. Had quick service. The food was great, but the portions were small on some dishes. Would defiantly revisit.

“Great apps...we will go back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

Wife and I went here with friends for a function that booked the restaurant for appetizers. These bit size morsels were fabulous, and while they were not the standard fare that is normally offered, we all decided we would have to go back and try the regular menu.

“Overrated ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

Did not live up to the hype, which is sad because it really could easily have done so if it minded a few details... First off, selection is very limited on wine and beer. Just saying. I was able to find a local draft I liked. Appetizer of chicken and waffles was fantastic. Combination of flavors and textures was quite nice. Main course was also excellent, I had smoked brisket and mortadella, was delicious. Flavor combinations were very good and portion was satisfying. My husband had the braised oxtail and was also quite happy as well. The dessert course is where things turned south. First of all our server was not familiar with the selections of cheeses and basically told us what she "thought" they were. Strike one. They also were not local as advertised in menu. (California is a ways away and we have delightful creameries across Ky.) then the cheese came. Three goats milk cheeses served with marmalade, my husband said tasted like wax lips. Disappointing. Some variety in types would have been appreciated. My dessert, cheese cake with blackened pineapple and caramel was also disappointing. The pineapple had the texture of gummy bears and no flavor. The cake part was good, nice combination of flavors. The death blow though to the was coffee. It was nasty instant coffee. Really?? This was quite shameful. Our bill for dinner was $100. entrees were $20/22 and you serve instant coffee? Get an espresso machine or at least a Keurig or take coffee off the menu. I expected more from a restaurant advertised and hyped to be high caliber. The truth is always in the details.

“Not your ordinary fare, but very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2013

Was staying downtown for business and had a local recommend. It is a very unique place. They have very different offerings, but everything was very good. The staff was very friendly and made a lot of great suggestions and did an excellent job of tailoring the choices to our preferences.

It is on the pricey side, but if you are wanting something different, they have a great variety of different menu offerings and ways of preparing their items to deliver a unique dining experience.

Great drink choices as well. Make sure you get directions first, as it is easy to miss their small sign from the street.
