“Newish Hotel but Cheaply Built really shows in rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Could not get into hotel we wanted for an overnight passing through town so found this near Churchill Downs that I wanted to see before we left in the AM. Nice lobby but the bar area very poorly designed next to it. The kitchen was open behind it and the smells permeated the lobby and bar, very strong BBQ spice rub smell when we arrived, later we came down for a drink and the smell was like microwaved Chinese rice, yucky, it burned my eyes and in did not want the smell in my clothes so we left early for dinner elsewhere. And who serves gran mariner in a drinking glass, this place did, bright overhead lights were annoying too. The bath fixtures were so cheap, all scratched up and the shower hardly worked, most of the water still came out of the tub spout instead of the shower head. White white bathroom with cheap wal mart style metal pictures were strange. Oh well, it was just a night but would not go back there mainly because of smelly kitchen smell everywhere!!!

Stayed here for three nights as our son was playing in a basketball tourney at the Exposition Center. Location was close to the center. We had a king suite. It had plenty of room and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom was average. A few things that we did not like was the housekeeping, average breakfast, and the fact that kids ran wild all night long. Also, if you like the bar scene you better go early. Last call was around 10 on Thursday and around 11 on the weekend.

We stayed here one night and it was wonderful. The hotel is like new. Rooms are updated and modern. Would have liked a microwave or fridge in room. Hotel is close to highway and other attractions. Pool is indoors and small.

Enjoyed a two night stay over the 4th of July weekend. A very friendly and helpful staff - they go out of their way to try to help with whatever you need.
We had a suite - very large. The bed was great and the housekeeping staff does an excellent job. Very clean.Love the wall mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The only issue was with the refrigerator which did not work. Staff came up to replace the original one and the second refrigerator did not work either.
We checked in very quickly and our room was ready when we arrived. Corrie at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.
Had a delightful experience at the restaurant - Martha is a real gem - so helpful and charming-she greets every guest as if they were an old friend!! Martha also took our order quickly and brought it to the table for us and the food was nice and hot. Thought the food was very good - we ate their twice - the second time just because we enjoyed talking with Martha - her interaction with the guests is awesome!!
It is very easy to see she really enjoys her job!! Four Points is very lucky to have her!!

I stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton recently for a Louisville business trip. Convenient location, easy access to I-65 and 264, University of Louisville, downtown, airport, etc. First impression: very friendly, accommodating, and efficient staff throughout my stay. Hotel is clean, room was large, clean, and well equipped. Noisy AC unit coming on/off and the sound of planes taking off (my room was on 6th floor facing west), was disruptive of sleep. Restaurant was good, food choices average, but well prepared and not expensive - again very helpful staff. Parking OK, no problems checking in/checking out. Price via Sheraton (telephone) was much better than what was advertised on various web sites. Will consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Ask for room on FRONT side on four or fifth floor to minimize air plane noise.

I stayed here for over a week while working in Louisville and was very pleased overall. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the bed was absolutely fantastic. The place was immaculate and everything seemed newly renovated. I probably would have gone for a five-dot rating except for the restaurant. It was awful. We ended up eating there several times during our stay just for convenience, so it wasn't a one-time bad experience. The staff seemed to be trying hard, but the food was terrible -- and I'm just not that hard to please. The exception to this was the Derby pie, which was yummy. So if you do find yourself needing to eat there, skip dinner and go straight for dessert.

I recently stayed at this hotel and thought it was a good value. The staff are lovely - very helpful and couldn't be friendlier. The room was nicely appointed and clean. Room service and restaurant were good for dinner and drinks. Breakfast was really a rough one though as they didn't seem to be expecting the crowd that they had and were very overwhelmed.... thankfully there was a buffett so it didn't really matter at the time. Outside neighborhood is not so good but you basically have all you need at the hotel. The one quirky thing that I liked was that the shower/tub has the shampoo/conditioner/bath gel in containers on the wall so you could use as much as you liked and you didn't have to squeeze it out of a tiny little bottle..... nice touch! The bed was incredibly comfortable too! I would definitely stay here again.
