“Gorgeous Victorian homes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2014

St. James Court and Belgravia Court are must see places for anyone with a love of architecture. Park your car and just wander through these places. There is a park across the street as well, but in my opinion, this was the main attraction. Be sure and tour the Caldwell mansion while there.

“beautiful homes”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2014

Old Louisville is nice for a walk or drive, especially in the spring, to see all of the old homes. Other than that, there aren't many other attractions that would draw you to the area. It's close to University of Louisville's campus and Churchill Downs, but there aren't very many good restaurants, coffee shops, museums or anything else in the area. You'd have to go downtown or further south to find a good place to eat. There is a nice-sized park about halfway between U of L and downtown with shade trees and pic nic tables where they occasionally put on plays. The area is not safe at night as criminals often target college students who are walking around late at night, often alone or in small groups.

“Old Louisville”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

this place had amazing old architecture - old churches and building and trolley cars - streets and streets of old buildings

about 4 huge bridges crossing the Ohio River not to mention the riverboats

and freeways / overpasses and 6 lane highways!

one of my favourite cities to pass through

we could see the KFC Centre with Colonel Sanders picture on it - apparently this is the city where he died

“Old Victorian Section of Louisville, Kentucky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

This is a rather interesting time travel in
Louisville Kentucky. Old Louisville contains many fantastic Old Victorian homes as well as some elaborate old mansions. If only they could speek..... Anybody who was somebody back in the early days of Louisville lived in this area. It is rich in history and architecture.

“Walking historic area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

This is an area that has many historic homes to enjoy by simply walking by them - often called the million dollar tour! They are huge, stately, very detailed mansions, many of them built pre-civil war, that are personal residences or B & B's and a few museums. We totally enjoyed just doing a walking tour and viewing the details at our leisure.
