I know this place gets very good revues, so I guess I am just not yuppie enough to appreciate it. I do admit, when some place is named "Hillbilly," I envision a place that makes Cracker Barrel look upscale, with a bunch of red neck girls with some missing teeth doing the serving.
We were taken there for Mother's Day brunch, and I ordered what I considered the "safest" item on the menu, biscuits and gravy. I will have to give them credit for them serving me biscuits and gravy like I have never had before. Topped with what they term "Forest Mushroom Gravy", it had a textured taste to it like it had a cornmeal base instead of a flour base. Hidden underneath the gravy was a poached egg with a runny yellow center, placed on top of a biscuit.
Some of the more "unsafe" things on the menu were items like "Scrambled Tofu" and "Moonshine Pork with a "Sunny egg."
If you are into trying new and rather unusual dishes with a trendy yuppie atmoshere, this place will definitely float your boat! For those of us with less sophisticated tastes, I have to be generous in rating it a "2".
