“For Running.....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

This park is a runner's dream. I can get a good hill work out one day and the next day I can get a nice flat course to run intervals. What I love most about this park is that I can run on the actual ground, rather than a hard surface. It's absolutely beautiful in the fall when the leaves change color too. I, also, like how many little streams you can run by. Definitely a good park if you're looking for a place to run or walk.

Just one set back can be parking. On a beautiful day, parking can be a nightmare.

“A very special break right inside the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

I live a block from the park and go through it almost everyday. It's a great place to exercise, walk trails or just sit and relax. It's also a great way to drive home from work and enjoy the open spaces, trees, creeks and quiet

There are some nice views from the hills and a 3 mile loop for walkers/runners/bikers. If you can go during the week, it's pretty empty but will get a little crowded on the weekends if the sun is shining.

“Always a beautiful place to visit, regardless of season.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Even though I do not live an hour away from Louisville, Cherokee Park is so extraordinarily beautiful that I make an effort to go there whenever I can. Even if it's only for a fifteen minute drive around or stroll, in between appointments, it offers peace, beauty, and tranquility. I envy the many who live nearby that can go and visit frequently, yet am proud for them getting to experience such a heavenly park and appreciate it for all it offers.

“Fantastic Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

Plenty of park to share for everyone. Located inside the Highlands neighborhood and a short walk from Bardstown Rd., the park is safe even at night. Run or cycle of the park's 2.3 mile loop (which is one way and closed to traffic on one side), which also connects to the adjacent Seneca Park via Beargrass Rd. or Park Boundary Rd. if you want to add some distance. The park has some pretty decent hills and around the park as well making it a popular spot for local cyclists. The park has an ever expanding network of mountain bike and hiking trails as well. None of these trails are too tough for an average stroll with young children. Hogan's Fountain is a great place to relax, and it is where the park's famous teepee structure is housed. Other amenities include restrooms, a playground, a basketball court and a baseball field. At frisbee field you can catch a rugby match in the spring and summer. Dog Hill offers a great place to watch the sunrise or sunset, and includes a playground and restrooms as well. The park is sandwiched between Willow Park which is home to the Cherokee Triangle Art Fair in late spring, and Seneca Park which has a 1 mile walking loop with a playground and athletic fields in between. Take note that parking may be an issue especially on days with good weather. Great park that perfect for everyone.
