We arrived in Louisville late in the afternoon but was told that the horse races were going on that day. So we drove over quickly. The parking price was real reasonable and we were close to the main gates. Once we got inside, we found out there were only three races left so we didn't have to pay a price to go in. We found seats pretty close and tried to figure it all out. It didn't take long and by the second race we were placing bets at $2.00 minimum. The kids and my husband and I all pretty much picked different horses and we let the kids keep their winnings. They had to decide with their winnings if they would bet again on the last race. This time we had enough time to go down and see the horses parade around briefly before the race began. We placed our bets and went to watch. It was very exciting each time! We never ate anything since we were not there long but our total time was still 1.5-2 hours. It was well worth it! It was beautiful and just amazing to think the Kentucky Derby had just gone on approx. 3 weeks before.
