“Cozy little hotel with clean rooms and an ok breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

Okay I will say that this was a nice little surprise for what we were expecting. My family and I are relocating to Louisville and needed a cheap little hotel that we could stay in for a few nights that the kid would tolerate. The Breckinridge was more than that! The funny side note is that my 3 year old daughter (who had just stayed at the 21c a few days before) declared that the hotel was “more beautiful than that art hotel!”) Clearly, it is an attractive little inn.

The rooms were very clean with no strange stains or smells that I expected from a 50 buck or so motel room. The bed was very comfortable with lots of extra pillows and blankets. The internet worked fine and more importantly, was free. The location was pretty great as well since we could get downtown in about 8 minutes or so.

We had a great family weekend at the pool swimming and giggling. I will say that the lifeguards at the pool were not terrifically involved in guarding the pool, particularly on the Saturday night that we were there, so I’d say definitely keep your eye on your children while in the pool even if they are old enough to swim alone while you hang out in the hot tub.

The only real complaints that we can make was the breakfast. There was the usual toast and interesting muffins. There was hot water and oatmeal and cereal, but nothing really filling. I will say that they had a hot pot with sausage gravy and a few biscuits, but that did not change from day to day.

All in all this was a great experience in a hotel that felt safe and was clean and comfortable with a kind and accommodating staff. I would recommend for a quick family weekend away to Louisville!

We booked this hotel because it was close to Norton Suburban Hospital and we also had our pets with us. I cant say enough about this hotel it was very pet friendly we met some wonderful people with their pets. It was clean, the people who ran the hotel could not have been nicer the breakfast was good. Wha a great hotel and convenient place to stay close to a lot of restaurants and right off the interstate!!!!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed close to an exit because we have pets but seemed like the whole hotel was nice and quiet..

I first reviewed this hotel in March of 2011, we have since had the need to stay again in Sept of 2011. The most recent stay was a vast improvement. The staff were much more helpful and friendlier. The cost is reasonable, quite possibly the most reasonable for the value in L'ville. We had the need to stay there for medical reasons (husband had to stay flat on his back for 24 hours) and they allowed us to check out an hour later to accommodate us. The location is extremely convenient to hospitals.

The staff was very helpful and answered our questions about the area. The rooms were very clean and they have a great nightclub in the basement. The room price was very reasonable. My only disappointed was the continental breakfast. The rolls were stale and the biscuits and gravy was soupy. If the breakfast had been better I would have rated the hotel a five.

Dark, outdated rooms in need of a major overhaul. In fact the carpeting is so dark you don't know if it is clean and the light bulbs are of such low wattage you cannot see if the room has been cleaned. Be prepared fr a long walk to your room. The staff is friendly but keep looking for a modernized hotel if you get creeped out by the idea of thousands of heads on overused furniture and beds.

I recently spent a long weekend at the Inn & found it to be very clean, comfortable & affordable. The location is great, just off the interstate, with shopping & eateries nearby. The hotel rooms were spacious, clean & smoke-free. the beds were v-e-r-y comfortable. Excellent for a good nights sleep!! Note: Rooms are not equipped with a fridge, but for a one-time $15 fee they will provide one. For the health & fitness enthusist, there is a great gym, indoor/outdoor pool(seasonal) and jacuzzi. They also have steam and sauna in the locker rooms. The only downside to these amenites were that the men's locker room had the steam room while the women's had the sauna. I found that to be a little odd but it was a small thing compared to the amenities you get. They offer a Continental breakfast which is just that. No hot food served (unless you made oatmeal in the microwave). However, it was enough to get your day started. There is also a club on the lower level for the 35 and older crowd which was very nice. I would highly recommend this hotel & plan to stay here whenever visiting family in Louisville!!
