My daughter and I met at The Gratz Park Inn 10/17/ 2004 for a little mom/daughter R&R. This is a charming, quaint, beautifully appointed Inn. The decor is the definition of southern hospitality. Our corner room had nice views, ice was already in the bucket, bottled water awaited us and the matelese comforters were turned back with individual packeages of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. A bud vase with flower sat on the bathroom vanity. The Inn boasts Tempur-Pedic mattresses - a real treat and a great way to try one if you've been considering same. We had dinner at Jonathan's in the Inn. We both enjoyed the excellent service and the great meal. Restaurant and Hotel staff were courteous, helpful and genuinely interested in our comforts. Very reasonably priced. A wonderful experience that I hope I will get to repeat.

Stayed here on our honeymoon for one night in mid Sept., 2004. Cool, clean place within walking distance to a lot of neat shops and eateries. Overpriced, like most hotels, and I doubt if I would pay this much if it wasn't a honeymoon. Romance doesn't require snobbery.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Gratz Park Inn in Lexington for a quick romantic getaway. The inn is beautiful, stately, and very elegant. Alot of atmosphere, you definitely get the feel that their standard clientele has "money". Front desk people were not overly friendly. They weren't rude, just not very welcoming. Each room in the hotel is uniquely decorated with beautiful period furniture. Our room was small but you'd expect that in a historic hotel, but the bathroom was large, and housekeeping was excellent. Would like to see coffee pots in the rooms; saves you a trip downstairs where coffee is always available to guests. All the beds in the hotel come with a Tempur Pedic mattress, basically a big foam bar that you'll sink into. Very comfortable, but hard to turn over when you're lying down. Turn down service with cookes is a nice touch. Has a restaurant on site, Jonathan's, that is supposed to be one of the best in Lexington. We didn't eat there, but it smelled great. They do have a breakfast buffet for $7.00 for the guests. Ended too early for us though. Great location within walking distance of downtown as well as several historical homes you can tour. Overall, I felt it was worth the money and we'll probably stay there again next time we're in Lexington.

The Inn has obviously been refurbished, but there is still a good bit of work to be done. The elevator is a beautiful masterpiece as long as one does not take too long getting on and off---the doors shut rather rapidly. Although all the floors are fully carpeted, the fact that there are soft spots in the floor cannot be covered by any amount of berber. However, the furniture in all the rooms is beautiful and the shower (after a long day of wedding rehearsal) felt wonderful. That is, when the hot water was working. Overall, I would not stay there for the price, the only complimentary items were coffee and a couple of cookies. (Breakfast downstairs consisting of donuts and a few pastries was $6.95--charged to your room--unbeknownst to my senior citizen parents.) However, I will give the staff credit for having repairmen on the site when we complained of the numerous inadequacies of the Inn. My sister in law and brother were eventually given a suite after 3 other rooms' air conditioners failed to work.......once the repairmen got there, the air worked once again. They say the 2nd floor is haunted.
