My husband and I recently stayed at the Gratz Park Inn in Lexington for a quick romantic getaway. The inn is beautiful, stately, and very elegant. Alot of atmosphere, you definitely get the feel that their standard clientele has "money". Front desk people were not overly friendly. They weren't rude, just not very welcoming. Each room in the hotel is uniquely decorated with beautiful period furniture. Our room was small but you'd expect that in a historic hotel, but the bathroom was large, and housekeeping was excellent. Would like to see coffee pots in the rooms; saves you a trip downstairs where coffee is always available to guests. All the beds in the hotel come with a Tempur Pedic mattress, basically a big foam bar that you'll sink into. Very comfortable, but hard to turn over when you're lying down. Turn down service with cookes is a nice touch. Has a restaurant on site, Jonathan's, that is supposed to be one of the best in Lexington. We didn't eat there, but it smelled great. They do have a breakfast buffet for $7.00 for the guests. Ended too early for us though. Great location within walking distance of downtown as well as several historical homes you can tour. Overall, I felt it was worth the money and we'll probably stay there again next time we're in Lexington.
