“excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

Had a room on the third floor for a single night. The room was large, clean, quiet, and well appointed. The bathroom was basic but functional and clean, the bathroom is possibly the only thing holding this property back from trading as a higher price brand. My expectations based on the Comfort Inn brand were totally blown away. I experienced no problems with noise from hallway or neighbors, overall I was impressed with the quietness of the property. A free breakfast is offered but it is the standard low cost, high carb spread, I would skip it in favor or Waffle House or Cracker Barrel.

The hotel is in the desirable Hamburg part of Lexington but the immediate area is not anything to strive for, mostly a trucker exit but the only issue here was navigating around the trucks parked on the side of the service road. Additionally there is a plethora of food and gas options available nearby.

Room Tip: Some interstate noise can be heard but unless a light sleeper not a concern.

Old building that really needs updating. Beds Were ok and it was very quiet. Pool area needs a thorough cleaning and whirlpool barely bubbles. Moldy smells in some areas and carpeting needs cleaning or replacing. Front desk was nice and helpful (Angel was her name) Breakfast OK and Cracker Barrel is very close. Tub didn't drain.

We were in town for a soccer tournament...11 year old girls. I must say if I had read the reviews BEFORE staying here, we would have gone somewhere else. You have to drive through the Hustler Hollywood parking lot to get to the hotel. My daughter was quite inquisitive because it is a very large building, and she thought maybe it was a restaurant or a movie theater. (Well, maybe it actually does have a movie theater!)

The front desk clerk was pleasant enough and checking in was easy. The restaurant area and lobby looked okay, but the carpeting and furniture in the hallway was old and dirty looking. The carpeting in the room was worn and dirty, and the comforter was thread-bare and had stains on it. The bed was not comfortable at all. We also found someone's old soda bottle and a cigarette in the drawer of the night stand (non-smoking room). The light fixture in the bathroom was also bare.

The pool area was okay, not the best. Could have used a good cleaning along with everything else in the hotel. Breakfast was average.

Some positives: There was a microwave and fridge in the room, which is always a plus. We used both and they were fine. It was surrounded by other hotels, had easy interstate access, and was within walking distance to 2 or 3 decent restaurants. There was also a Wal-Mart across the street, which we visited to pick up a few forgotten items. Other than the proximity of the porn shop, it wasn't a bad location.

Overall not the worst hotel I've stayed at, but definitely on the lower half of the list.

Reserved 10 rooms for a soccer team at this motel for July 28, 2012 . We were told we could check in at 3:00. This was very important as we had played one game and had two more. One at 6 pm and another the following morning at 8 am. Got there Manager was VERY rude and wouldn't let us check into until 4 pm. No air in lobby. He had fans going. I asked if air was out and he said no, just saving money. They tried to send our team debit card through incorrectly and froze up our card. I had to use personal card to pay for a couple of rooms and feed the team the rest of our trip. Then the real nightmare began. Our coach and his wife noticed bed bugs in their room at approximately 1:30 in the morning. We did a search of the players rooms and found well over 50 in one of the player's bed. They were huge!!! We insisted they call the manager (the one that had already been so rude). He came and tried to deny it was bed bugs. We took pictures and reported to health dept. Call Fayette Co. Health Dept @ 859-899-4267. They will let you have the report. Had to throw lots of things away, go buy new clothers for those players and all boys (10 rooms) got no sleep as we checked rooms and then cleaned everything. Manager tried to have us use washer/dryer that was broken to clean. We did insist on using the hotel's laundry room. Still not very sympathetic and tried to say he didn't see any bedbugs. I am talking HUGE!!!! Finally admitted but only in the one room. He acted like no big deal. NIGHTMARE IF YOU CARRY THEM HOME!!!!! Wouldn't discuss with me as we checked out. Another lady checking out had complained of a toilet that had been stopped up since the previous night! Complaint after complaint from guests as I stood there. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They don't care once they get your money! The 3 ladies that I talked to there were very nice unfortunately this General Manager was their boss! He was degrading to them and they should bring charges against this man!

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times when traveling back and forth to Florida. I can say that I have never experienced the nightmares described by other reviewers. Noise has never been a problem for me. I can confirm that the common areas are not air conditioned but the a/c in my room worked and that's really all I cared about. The carpet in my room was dirty/stained and needs to be deep cleaned or replaced. The bathroom in particular is outdated. But the linens were clean and the bed comfortable.

My only real concern was the fact that a door that should be locked at all times and only opened with a room key doesn't lock at all and it was this way when I stayed there a year ago.

Room Tip: Rooms facing south and west should be quieter as they do not face the expresway.

Checked in during rain and we were told we could park our bikes under the awning. Also very accommodating with helping us get our clothes dried. Room was clean. I will stay here again if ever in Lexington Ky.

Stayed here one night while on a business trip. I could care less about the reviews concerning the decor of a hotel - as a business traveler I'm concerned about quiet, comfort and cleanliness.

The hotel was quiet, and convenient to places to eat and gas stations. The bed was relatively comfortable and the sheets were clean. The carpeting could have been better vacuumed, but it was not terrible. The bathroom was clean. The hot breakfast was decent - just typical prepackaged, precooked eggs and sausage that the hotel heats up in the morning. The staff is what I would classify as the typical Choice Hotels staff - not unpleasant, but not pleasant. I was not greeted or recognized as a Platinum Choice Rewards member, but then again, I've NEVER been recognized as such in ANY Choice Hotel.

Overall I got exactly what I expected for the price of the hotel - nothing great but nothing bad.
